The Superhuman Gambit

So, today, while doing my daily rounds of blowing off raiders heads and making sure the muties don't cause any trouble, I stumbled across the charming little town of Cantenbury Commons.

I was given "The Superhuman Gambit" quest by good ol' Uncle Roe. So, I was thinking whether to deal with The AntAgonizer or The Mechanist. My question is, which is more profitable, which one rewards oneself better. Also, I'm currently playing as a Good Karma character, if that makes a difference. Thanks in advance everybody.

Most profitable is to have a high speech, and talk both of them into stopping the crap. Then talk to uncle roe. He pays for both, and then gives a bonus for peaceful resolution.

I think it depends on what you mean when you say "more profitable."

As noted above, you get the most caps for talking them both out of being jerks, and you get their costumes for doing so. Their costumes are hilarious for roleplaying purposes, but not much use otherwise. However, if you kill one of them (or choose only one of them to talk out of the hero/villain business) and bring that one's costume to the other, then you get either a sweet gun from the Mechanist or a unique knife from the Antagonizer. (Personally I like the gun better, but then again, I like energy weapons, and most melee weapons kind of stink in this game.)

There are a number of weys to end the conflict.

Stopping the Mechanist:
Use Speech
Use Child at Heart, on behalf of Derek
Use Black Widow
Kill him
Side with him against Antagonizer

Stopping the Antagonizer
Use Speech
Use Ladykiller
Use information gathered at Hubris Comics
Kill her
Side with her

If you want good karma, I like talking the Mechanist into stopping. Most of my characters usually get the CAH perk, and my female ones will bet BW as well.

If bad karma is OK, I prefer to side with him against the Antagoniozer. The Protectron's Gaze is a nifty little weapon, especially for an energy weapon user.

Hmmm. I'll have to try that Speech and Peaceful Resolution approach one of these days, but blowing things up is ever so much fun. :gun: :gun: :nuke:

Well, if you agree to side with the Mechanist, you get to beat down the Antagonizer and her ant posse almost immediately. And you get a multidirectional laser pistol to boot.

I normally do this quest fairly deep into my character and use the process listed at the wiki to get everything from both of the kooks.

I usually do one of 3 things. I either side with one of them, Use the peace route(Convince both of them with speech skills to stop fighting) or kill both of them.

Deal with both, starting with the AntAgonizer. Be sure to save her armour, then go see The Mechanist. It's possible through a speech check to have the whole thing come to an end by just talking to The AntAgonizer. She's obviously gone a bit crazy and you can bring her back to reality through a dialogue option.
