Character Updates #3

Post » Sat May 26, 2012 8:36 am

Here we go again, folks

Lothran is still in Anvil, hanging out in the Mages Guild with his dearest friend Buffy the Bowgirl. Who knows what adventures they will embark upon this time?
The sunset last night viewed from the lighthouse was spectacular! The water was magnificent in the light and the town itself charming, to say the least.

You beat me to it, mirocu!

Skarsgard left the Bleaker's Way Goodwill Inn (3 out of 5) after a http://i1122.photobucket.com/albums/l528/Lady-Mara-2/Skarsgards%20Quest/BleakersWayGoodwillInn2.jpg

It was a scorching day even as http://i1122.photobucket.com/albums/l528/Lady-Mara-2/Skarsgards%20Quest/Bruma2.jpg in the evening. There was no snow on the ground! He headed to his house first to freshen up a bit and put on http://i1122.photobucket.com/albums/l528/Lady-Mara-2/Skarsgards%20Quest/Bruma4.jpg then went to Olav's Tap and Tack. He treated himself to a nice cold ale, and got chatting to http://i1122.photobucket.com/albums/l528/Lady-Mara-2/Skarsgards%20Quest/OlavsTapandTack1.jpg who giggled and called him a charmer! There weren't many people at Olav's but it didn't matter. Skarsgard had fun anyway, and left to spend the night at home. (Alone!)

Ravanne has helped to retake Kvatch, and has escorted the Heir to his safe refuge with the Blades. Jauffre barked some kind of further orders at her, but she wasn't really paying attention. She is not a Blade. She thoroughly dislikes the Grandmaster. He is arrogant and presumptuous, as well as being completely incompetent. He couldn't even safeguard the stupid jewel for the few days that it took for her to uphold her end of the deal.

She's now on her way to the Imperial City. She has come upon an Oblivion Gate that has opened near the road, and there are daedra in the road. Travelers will die. What a mess.

Ravanne curses the Emperor, the daedra, and the gods for getting her involved in this. She kills the scamps in the road, and steps through the gate...

Leyawiin. Early morning. My decrepit avatar and Vilja stand inside the north gate, about to depart the city and begin their return to Weye. This particular patrol was literally a washout. It had begun raining the day before they accepted the assignment. It didn't let up until almost to Bravil, where they stopped to deliver supplies and grab a bite to eat. On the road again, the sky turned crystal clear and would remain so for the rest of their journey. Not that it mattered over much. By then the sun was going down. Darkness soon set in. My avatar doesn't mind an evening ride every now and again, especially under such pristine conditions. Heck, they even witnessed a meteor shower.

They arrived in Leyawiin at roughly 2330, delivered supplies, and went straight to their beds, she in the Mages Guild basemant, he at the Fighters Guild. It began raining again before he reached the Fighters Guild hall, and has not yet let up. Doesn't look like it's going to any time soon.

Nothing of real significance happened during these adventures. Well, there was another assassination attempt. This time the fellow burst into the Manor foyer as my avatar prepared to head to the capital to gather commissions. The two manor guards on duty cut the villain down before my avatar could draw blade. Ho hum.

Well, I was finally able to create a new character and get her into the world (Nirn) without deleting her - the first new PC since January. http://i1250.photobucket.com/albums/hh539/tmodel/LilBit2012-05-2314-10-25-72.jpg She’s a stealth archer like all the rest - yeah I know, it’s the same thing over and over. Anyway, she acted up a bit during the tutorial. As the Emperor and guards were leaving her cell she shot them in the back with her Fireball spell. They didn’t seem to mind. After they left she opened the two cell doors with the console and proceeded to blast Valen Dreth with the Fireball. Alas, he was set to essential, and could have cared less. Played the disposition mini-game with him for a while, then I figured I had better catch up with the Emperor’s group.

Li’l Bit followed the script the rest of the way through, using the Fireball spell and her new rusty bow. When she exited the sewer she went across to Vilverin and collected the loot of a couple of bandits. Then she walked along the shore fighting Mudcrabs to advance her Light Armor skill and collecting Nirnroots. http://i1250.photobucket.com/albums/hh539/tmodel/LilBit2012-05-2316-45-19-98.jpg

She went back across the water and killed the Bandit at Sinkhole Cave (only one ?? for some reason). She slept in his bed (yuck) to level up to 2. Then she fast traveled to Chorrol to pick up her companion Mooch. Then to the IC waterfront to commandeer the pirate boat with the help of the Imperial Guard. She got rid of the amulet, did some Alchemy and a dungeon work, stole the Blue Silk Shirt from the Chorrol Fighters Guild and made her way to the Inn of Ill Omen to laundry it, but good ol’ Manheim wasn’t cooperating. So we gave her a dress we got off some corpse and she seemed to like it.

Buying, selling, bashing crabs, doing useless junk to advance her skills, and other assorted affairs, http://i1250.photobucket.com/albums/hh539/tmodel/LilBit2012-05-2321-19-01-91.jpg, flat broke, and sitting at the table on the Pirate boat with Mooch planning the morrow’s adventurers.

Last night I had a dream about an unusual dark-haired elf, betrayed by a man she had trusted. I saw her pacing up and down in her cell, plotting her revenge, and wondering how she was going to get her hands on a bow to kill the man who betrayed her.

This morning when I woke up, I discovered http://i1122.photobucket.com/albums/l528/Lady-Mara-2/Carwen1.jpg in the Imperial City Prison.

Awesome Skarsgard update, and there's even a rating! Bleaker's Way is one of my favorite little hamlets in Oblivion. I found it with one of my characters by mistake one day.

tmar: I liked this line...

She slept in his bed (yuck) to level up to 2.

Oh yes, the beds. :yuck: I think I'd rather sleep on the bare ground.

I like what Contumeliorus Florius, in Chorrol, has to say about it: "Smart thing is to join a guild. Any guild. Gets you a place to sleep for free. No muss, no fuss, no crummy tavern food and lice-ridden beds."

Heh, when Buffy has to sleep in a strange bed, she hits it with several spells first including frost, cure disease and dispel. If it happens to be in the Skingrad Guildhall, Vigge can attest that she also sleeps with a paralyze spell at the ready.

Vigge is a worry. If you look at the spells in his collection, he's got Withering Touch, Searing Grasp, Drain Skill:Hand to Hand, and, worst of all, Blazing Spear.

If he brings his Blazing Spear anywhere near Buffy, he'll find himself paralyzed in a limp pile on the floor.

kelmar dreyles (my breton crusader) spotted an accursed oblivion gate had opened right by the priory of the nine.well my friends, there was nothing for it,but to don his holy armour and close this infernal doorway to the netherworld (there was no way he was going to put his fellow knights in danger!)
i can happily report that the gate is now sealed shut and another sigil stone in his grasp (that makes 2 so far for him ;-). i (i mean kelmar),is intrigued by these stones, and he plans to study them.maybe hoping that he can use their power for good.
the best part though was that he returned to a lovely blue sky (it was dark and stormy, when he entered the gate).
now he is going to repair his armour at the holy shrine (armour stand).and then relax and listen to stories told by his brothers (and sisters) in arms

Nice! That's some clever RP right there.

Isn't that the best? Going from hell back to Cyrodiil's placid countryside. Love that.

Tynan made it to Bravil from Leyawin and heard a rumor about the Drotheri in Sundecliff watch and is now on his way to investigate. Is currently crossing the bridge next to Fort Aleesia.

Runir has arrived in Cyrodiil, fresh off of a ship from Summerset Isle. His lips are sealed as to why he left his homeland, but he's less than pleased about being in the heart of the Empire. He harbors a certain distrust of the Empire and it's associates - the Legion, the Fighters Guild and the Mages Guild. They're too controlling, constricting for his liking, and they seem to think that humans have some sort of 'right to rule'. Hmph!

Runir is an Altmer Atronach Mage. He focuses on Alchemy and Conjuration, and isn't a huge fan of ranged spells - his offensive spellbook consists mostly of 'on-touch' spells. Being born under the Atronach, he's constantly looking for new ways as to how he's going to conserve and replenish his magicka, which is where his love of alchemy stems from. He's currently researching new ways to strengthen his Restore Magicka brew.

While strolling towards Skingrad, he focused heavily on finding ingredients. He's noticed a huge difference between Cyrodiilic specimens and Summerset Isles ingredients. He's currently in Skingrad, chatting with a fellow Altmer and Alchemist, Sinderion, about a strange root he found ...

Silvonwe has closed two Oblivion gates near Skingrad. She went to visit her old friend Janus Hassildor, and spent a pleasant evening at the castle. Count Skingrad promised to send troops to assist in the defense of Bruma.
