*sighs* It never ends...

I gave one of my new NPCs a greeting specific to the player being of the same race and a level less than 5, and now when I click on that NPC in-game, no dialogue screen comes up at all, as if I'm attempting to communicate with a Dremora or something. This whole dialogue system is really starting to irritate me, I have to say.

Anyhoo, any help on this will be appreciated.

what section did you put the greeting in?

remember, it goes from the top down, kind of like a really long elseif block.

Greeting 1. Now I'm looking at it, I think it should be in 9.

Okay, that didn't work, and I'm pretty sure I just messed something else up too. Forget it, I'm just not going to mess with dialogue. I mainly made new NPCs for a challenge combat-wise anyways. I mean, I WAS going release this mod eventually, but not like it is, not with it being so easy for me to mess up so much stuff with the dialogue system. I'm going to need to start over too.

Thanks anyways.

have you tried both "samerace = 0" and "samerace = 1"? i forgot which ones, but some functions are backwards from what you'd expect.

the level conditional is also " < 5" correct?

greeting 1 is actually where you'd want it, just not in the first three slots or so, remember it reads from the top down, and any greeting that fulfills it's conditionals will be displayed, rather than the one you made.

i'm also not too sure how this is working out with custom races involved.

usually, at least with me, it's some silly little detail that messes the whole thing up. just stick with it and experiment a lil, review dialog tutorials, and the answer will come to you.

here's a dialog treasure chest of info i've got bookmarked, try browsing it and seeing if anything makes itself apparent to you.
