Bethesda have a habit of making their games incredibly inferior on ps3 than Xbox 360 & PC, Will it be the same for skyrim?

I have Oblivion for all three of these systems and I find Xbox 360 and PS3 to be pretty equal for the way I play it.

True, 360 had more DLC but I don't think that really made the PS3 game "inferior" to the 360.

The only reason the PS3 was better was because it had an extra year of development and the downloadable content could not all be loaded into system RAM... I think that is why it missed out on the smaller content packs. Anyhow the PC version will be the best with Skyrim for sure.

Bethesda doesnt try to make them inferior. Oblivion was not inferior! It had better loading times and less popping in and out of textures than the 360 version. Fallout 3 was worse, I agree, but we won't know until we have seen the new engine.

Could you come up with a few examples?

Because the only things I can think of were the "not all the dlc got to the ps3" and the vampire cure glitch thing. PS3 got the KotN included for Oblivion. While they were working on the game for the ps3 they found a way to improve the graphics; later the improvement was released to the pc and the 360 in a patch. If they were making the ps3 version inferior, why did they bother to improve the graphics?

I had Oblivion on BOTH ps3 and 360.

ps3 has better texture, and no pop in for distant texture (more seamless) quicker load times, KOTN and SI both included on main game disc.

but no plug ins on ps3 version... bad for roleplayers.

360 version chugs more, and needs a seperate disc for expansions which take nearly a minuite to load on the title screen. But then it has the DLC.

when you balance them out, having more content is better than the game being slightly more polished.

I also think the colour ls look more vibrant on the 360. I am too at a loss on deciding which platform to buy it for. I prefer the controller on the 360 and it usually gets DLC earlier than PS3. I dunno though... I'll see closer to the time.

Lol... looks like it's never too early for [censored]. While some people seem to really enjoy measuring console pencses, I prefer to just enjoy games. Oblivion looked nearly identical on the PS3 and 360 and Skyrim will likely be the same. Each system will have it's own crop of bugs and glitches, but probably none will be game-breaking. I guess it's possible that one of the companies will send a truckload of cash to Bethesda to make sure that dlc is delayed for either one system or the other, but really... I don't care. (In fact, I personally see the practice of "exclusives" being damaging to the end gamer since it hurts the publisher and developers total install base AND it means that if you're a gamer on the console that has the exclusive, you're indirectly paying money just to make sure that someone else doesn't play that game at the same time as you... why would anyone want to do that?)

The PS3 didn't load as much while roaming the landscapes, had better textures can you could see ruins further then you could for the xbox 360

I myself hope that all three version of the game will be of somewhat equal quality so that we all can enjoy them. Besides, we all know that Bethesda games are better for PC anyway because of the modding community fixing things Bethesda never seem to patch.

I believe the 360 version will be inferior this time due to the lack of disc space.

Indeed. We won't know until the game is released. There's almost a year until it's released too, they might do all sorts of optimisations, so it's way too early to tell.

Yep, the PS3 and 360 versions of Oblivion had different strengths and some weaknesses.

Oh, and immature posts that just bash the consoles gets deleted, so behave :P

Yes. They found a way to improve things while working on the ps3. and patched the pc and 360. It still doesn't mean that both consoles are going to be completely, totally equal. There are limitations on both systems.

I'm still trying to figure out where the "Bethesda have a habit of making their games incredibly inferior on ps3 than Xbox 360 & PC, Will it be the same for skyrim?" comes in. Since it seems that they actually don't, based on what people have reviewed and posted. But it does sound more dramatic to say that Bethesda has a habit of making their games incredibly inferior on one system or another. Almost like a poster was trolling or trying to flame-bait other posters or something.

I'll admit I don't know much about technical aspects of gaming consoles and PCs, but I have heard from alot of sources that the PS3 has a lot of untouched power that has not been properly harnessed by any game so far, so I am fairly confident the PS3 Skyrim will be just fine. The XBOX one I am a bit more worried (well when I say worried, it's not really that much because I don't really care about XBOX, but I will for you guys) because it is considered to be a weaker console and much closer to it's peak. I'd love it if anyone with actual in-depth knowledge of these things would verify this information.

And yeah, Oblivion seemed to work very well on PS3. My brother has a pretty good computer, but Oblivion lags a bit on his. My PS3 one never seemed to lag at all unless there were like 8 or so NPCs in a fight at once.

I think I liked the 360 version more, for the brief period of time I played on a console. I switched to PC pretty quickly for the mods.

I have Oblivion for the PS3 and i can not fault it one bit, i have also played it on the 360 (although not as much) and i did not see a difference, although i admit i wasn't particularly looking for differences i just enjoyed the game. Even if Skyrim on the PS3 is not as good as it is on other platforms i won't care. I'll still love it!

Why do you hate the PS3? there isn't much reason to.

Or is this a case of massive biased fanboyism? ;)
