Playable sloads. That is all.

If I can kill the Sload, I wouldn't mind one being in the game.

On a more serious note, this-

Is the kind of thing I had in mind when I mentioned NPC Sload, and would be really cool.

Thanks. I know I would enjoy it.

Wait, wait, I've got it!

We bring back M'aiq the Liar. Rather than stationary like Morrowind or running the circuit like Oblivion, in Skyrim he runs a zoo.

As he gives you a tour of creatures and/or NPCs, he comments on each one.

"And here, the Sload. How fat. How ugly. How disgusting. Some people want to be Sloads. M'aiq thinks these people are fools."

:D

You sir, win this topic. *hands you a giant-ass cookie*

Reminds me of the part in the story of Beowulf where he goes to kill Grendel's mother. Maybe she was a sload!

There are some similarities aren't there? Well, that'll happen when you're in a very Beowulfish land. Maybe I could give it more of a Lovecraftian tweaking. Hmm...

Sloads are my favorite non-tamrielic race. Heck I even have a WoW character named Sload, but as player characters I think they would be less than stellar. I'm not opposed to sload NPCs but I'm not sure that skyrim is the right province to introduce them.

Sloads are disgusting, and they released the plague. They should only be introduced as NPC's if we also get a quest to genocide them.

True, but they have added to it. Orcs didn't use to be playable.

You are right about that, but I still don't see any reason why they'd add the Sload as a playable character, or any new ones for that matter.

Well... I said yes for the simple reason that I'm a really hardcoe RPG player, and I don't believe in limiting the abilities and choices of players... However, I'm an old school RPG player too, as such, I don't believe in [censored]-footing around with consequences. In D&D we had this house rule we called it the "stupidity clause". As such I think you should be able to be a sload, but as a level one sload escaping prison in one way or another you should be treated appropriately for most places in Tamriel, and targeted and killed on the spot. After all, while no one may remember the events of the Thrassian Plague, its still a not long lost historical event that puts the citizens of Tamriel against the Sload, which are for the most part isolationists to begin with, making your adventurer role extraordinarily odd, particularly considering the Sload don't even have a word for Adventure in their language... I say make you choices, put the characters in, and make a number of considerations for such a character, but don't give the player the benefit of the doubt, make it a harsh, and practically impossible character to play, because at level 1 it would be next to impossible. Later on, if you survive, congratulations, and I'd compliment you on your role-playing skills, but just generally speaking... Its not going to happen, and with only so much development time for the game, its probably best it didn't, but I hate being hypocritical, and since I think they NEED to add more content, and that is in line with the lore, I back you.

No sload in skyrim.

They get REALLY big and fat, can't be out of water for too long (even as an advlt), and are hated by most races anyway.

Besides apparantly their tentacle arm things get so big and blobby they wouldn't be able to use half of the items they find

I voted yes, simply because sloads are awesome and I would love to be able to play as one (imagine the roleplaying possibilities). But on the other hand, I understand that it's not very likely a sload would be in Skyrim (province) and that it would be very hard to implement them. So I can perfectly live with the fact that they won't be in TES: Skryrim, in fact I'm pretty sure they won't be. It's just: I would like them to be in a future game or something.

Maybe if this was Black Marsh or Valenwood or something. Sloads are more predominant towards the south is my understanding- wouldn't the cold in Skyrim... idk... kill them?
