[RELz] Ash's Odd Jobs

Post » Sat May 28, 2011 8:28 am

I have completely forgotten about working on this.

I don't know whether to be ashamed or whatnot. xD

I've still got some work to do on it, but it shouldn't take too long to finish it.

File is updated. The new version (2.0) features enhanced code and I've added the Jester job to all the cities' castles (except the Imperial city).

I'm probably not going to work on this anymore. Anyone who wishes to is free to pick up the pitchfork and start poking people with it.

Hey, Ashven. =)
Nice to stop in here and read more of your fine logic patterns.
I happen to use 1:1 timescale and often just wait to pass time.
This seems like a much more graceful way to do that + benefits.
Sounds like nice work - I'm gonna go download a copy.

Hey Ash, love it!

Although I think I ran into a compatibility issue with one of my other mods, but I want to rule out it's not version 2.0 first.

The problem is, despite going to places listed in the readme, and doing a comprehensive search for the items, I have only had success in finding the snow shovel in bruma.

I'll say I'm aware that the objects are only around at certain times of day. For instance, I have not been able to find the activator in any of the bars, despite being there at the correct time.

Does the bartender job have a skill requirement and do tokens not appear unless you meet those requirements. This seems to be the case for the other jobs I've looked for, such as the stable hand in IC.

I was going to see if the problem still exists in a previous version, But I noticed you pulled the old ones, could you make them available again?

And could I know the exact locations of one or two objects to make sure I'm not just missing them?

Indeed, more of the jobs now have skill requirements.

I believe bartender was speechcraft of about 45, and showed up from about 7 or 8 at night to midnight. Generally, though, skills of about 35 and up usually make more jobs pop up.

Stuff like stablehand should show up on time, because I made stablehands, streetsweepers, muckers, and snow shovelers have no requirement. (Of course, I've had the issue that it didn't show up one day but did the next)

I can't account for everything that goes wonky, but most of the time it works right.

Alright, thats what I thought, but no one wants the fear that a mod in their list is broken!

Just to make sure, can you tell me the exact place the stable hand object is for the Stables at imperial city? and I'll try waiting two days to see if it comes up.

Cheers!

I don't quite remember where it shows up, but I think it's on the left side of the stables, when you face the wall. If not, check the corner posts of the fences. I was real bad about finding corners most people probably wouldn't look in.
