Camera/first person strange view

Post » Sat May 28, 2011 3:49 am

Recently when i was in game i had finished an online match and proceeded to move onto a different map. Before i changed my load out and my weight to light but when i got into the map, the camera seemed to almost move backwards from where it normally is. Normally, you would be looking down the gun, not able to see much of it other than the front or barrel, but it had changed to where i could see almost the entire gun.

I have some screenshots i took of the problem:

As a comparison, you can look at a recent trailer detailing most of the weapons and how they CLEARLY look nothing like the screenshots.

i can still play the game normally, but its very VERY uncomfortable and movement just feels very awkward. I've tried tweaking with the video options and its changed nothing. Im considering reinstalling the game but im slightly worried about whether i'll be able to keep my characters or not.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated! Thx!

*additionally* at first i thought it was the weight class, but it turns out it wasnt just the map, the guns, or the class. I've tried restarting both the game and the computer but it hasnt made much difference

I managed to solve the problem. If you go into the developers console and type in ui_fov 100 it will bring it back to normal. I have NO idea how it changed but it should be normal after that.

You can get to the developers console by right clicking Brink in the steam library and going into "Launch Options" then typing in < +set com_allowConsole 1 > without the < >.

Thanks a lot for the solution.

(For a more "Normal view" Put the "ui_fov" at 80.)
