Maps change. There's a 400-ish year difference.

Subsequent editions are in addendum to the First. They should be read together. That's why the Third doesn't contain as much world building, because it's mostly covered by the First.

I'm sure a dev could, but they can also begin a new map. The Third Edition's map will be outdated, too.

I can understand cities changing, as they might not be there now and new ones pop up. However, mountain ranges should stay the same and they aren't from the 1st to the 3rd edition. The pocket guide was changed to accomodate Oblivion and Cyrodiil. I don't tihnk they should change the pocket guide again to accomodate another game. If they do that then why even have maps and Lore when it changes from game to game.

Wasn't it? Vvardenfell definitely wasn't. Morrowind may have been (lore buffs will come and crush me for my lack of MW weather knowledge). Islands generally don't suffer from such extreme weather conditions either, because all the water absorbs the heat energy as it has a high specific heat capacity so to decrease in temperature it needs to lose a lot of energy.

Skyrim looks a lot like North Cyrodill there. Chorral-esque.

No Vvardenfell wasn't covered with snow, Solstheim was but not Vvardenfell.
people who think Skyrim will be a frozen tundra probably base that off the fact that Bruma and all of Solstheim which are the two closest things we've seen to Skyrim so far are both covered in snow

There are going to discrepancies, because Tamriel is still a young concept. This happens with world building. Something gets moved around, or dropped entirely.

Regardless, yes they should change the map again, and they will. Vvardenfell was obliterated, and Artaeum has re-appeared. Political boundaries have been re-drawn and may be undecided upon.

Then, there's the fact the Septims are a bygone lot of [censored] bags, and it's time to move on, and new guides would help do that.

No, the reason people are assuming Skyrim should be all tundra, is because they're idiots.

The reason Northern Cyrodiil (Bruma area) is all snow is because it's a f**king mountain pass! ELEVATION!! Skyrim is very mountainous, but there will be areas of lower elevation and, therefore, will be more temperate.

Exactly, why is this so hard to grasp? There is going to be frozen tundra, a lot of it, but I guarantee that there will be rolling hills, valleys, grassy plains and other stuff as well. But whatever, people will believe hat they want to believe.

You're not missing much. Just a valley with a lot of trees and barely any snow.

I once saw a Skyrim map which showed that the south where the mountains/bruma are are covered in snow, while the north was pretty much all green.
