I love the new theme !

I think it's way too early to judge but from the little i've heard, i have to admit i'm not crazy about it. It might grow on me though and it's not like it's bad or anything, not even close.

I like the Skryim theme because it is very loud and triumphant...it's saying: "Yeah, Oblivion is good, but this time, we're going a step further." The nordic vibes really represent the cool things going on in Bethesda itself.

I think its been confirmed that Jeremy Soule is making the soundtrack, although it is wikipedia so you never know... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Elder_Scrolls_V:_Skyrim (look at the composer on the right)

its AWSOME, but i think they should skip the first few seconds.

for the title they should skip most of the song and get to the build up before the "for the king...." because that bit is explosive.

Wait, the chanting is in English? I couldn't understand a word of what was said, so I assumed it was Latin or Gaelic or something obscure. Needs better enunciation!

Wow! I had no idea that's in English! Makes no sense to me.

However I like the music, I mean it's Ok.

Seriously though, the lyrics, I had no idea they were in English!

I voted 'nothing special, but acceptable'.

I found it to be too quiet in the beginning and too boisterous through the middle. Perhaps I'll have to see it used in context. However, a good piece of music should stand on its own.

By far my favorite piece is Morrowind's opening theme. That piece can choke me up and I'm not even someone that really played Morrowind (I made it to Pelegaid and Balmora, that was it.)

I like the Skyrim theme even less than Olbivion's, but then again, I've heard the Oblivion theme much more.

Edit:
It would help too if the OP had a link to the theme for people.

I really like it. But, there needs to be louder dynamics in the crescendo to the loudest part of the chant, and during the chant. Other than that, it's amazing.

El svcko. Very disappointed by the music, was hoping for something more distinguished and unique

EDIT: Needs to ditch the violins and other stringed instruments. Sounds too much like classical music and LotR/Harry Potter/etc. soundtracks.

YEAH, your right. Why not put in some syntheseizers and like 300 electric guitars?

On topic: I love the theme

I have a feeling those who think the current one is good will be blown away by the final version.

I'm pretty sure that is the final version. If you listen to podcast #6, at the end, they play the theme from Morrowind, followed by the theme from Oblivion, followed by what would logically be the theme from Skyrim.

I really love it too. Gives me chills every time!

Oh, according to iTunes I've listened to the theme 380 times. That's not counting all the times I watched the trailer :celebration:

I love it :) really fits the location of the game :) I still prefer Morrowind's tho.. buuut it has a heavy nostalgia factor, so we'll see which one is top once skyrim comes out

I don't usually like this sort of music, but the Skyrim theme is epic! I've added to my Wimamp playlist.

I cannot stand what theyve done to the original morrowind theme. Such a nice tune first damaged for oblivion and now mutilated for skyrim. I like the viking chants and all, but theyve cut out almost the whole tune now; only the first few seconds of the tune remain. If they kept the original 2 min theme and just changed it a bit, maybe added in the vocals or something, id be much happier, like in the "nerevar rising reprise" version. This is not a nostalgia thing either, as i got morrowind after oblivion.
