Deteriorating Mods?

Hey all.

Lately I've been trying to get into modding for Morrowind, and hope to join the Tamriel Rebuilt project after I've gotten more familiar with the CS. There's a problem I've been running into lately that's been setting me back.

I'll be working on a mod, and I'll save the thing, but when I go to exit the CS there will be a message asking me if I would like to save my changes. Naturally, I re-save it a few times, but I still get the same message upon exiting, despite having saved the file. If I exit at this point and restart the program, the mod will have randomly reverted to some previous version when I try to reopen it.

I've had this happen twice now; the first time, I lost the entire mod. The second time, I lost an interior and a bunch of miscellaneous items I had added to the exterior.

Could somebody tell me if this is some type of bug? It's really put me off the idea of investing any more time into this.

ok, just to check, when u load up you're making the mod you're working on the active plugin right? otherwise nothing will save the way u wanted (i once had 6 plugins for the same mod, all of them added more and more to the mod...failed.) best ask this cause i have a hunch..

Yeah. I always make sure to check the mod as the active plugin.

For some reason, I've noticed that both times this happened were shortly after adding interiors to the mods.

Could that really be the problem?

I just recently started running it as administrator, so I don't know if it makes a difference yet. Then again, Morrowind and MWE tend to run better as administrator, so it could be a problem with Vista. I'll see if it helps.

If you haven't done so already, I'd also disable UAC in the control panel. That causes loads of unwanted compatibility problems, and just problems with any software more complicated than paint in general.

it seems you need to disable UAS, as meantioned, or always run as admin. when i just started out, i made something like 50 NPCs, but could only "see" the esp i made in the CS when i wasent running as admin (like the first time i ran the CS) havent had any problems since changing the shortcut to always launch as admin.
