Weird error

Okay what the hell happened now... I build a mod a whole day (little village with several houses). I got the damned first big house done (took 8h of work) and normally saved and closed the Construction Set, until came an error and it said something about removing duplicate references. I checked the mod out, and one of the rooms of the house were completely... black. Some items had changed places and there was no floor or walls, just black. All I could see is the stuff inside.

Now as I try to open up the mod in CS, it says "96 duplicate referrences were removes. Continue running executable? Yes No"

If I press no, the whole [censored] shuts down. If I say yes, the mod comes up just as it should, I can't see anything wrong in the mod, but in-game the house is black.

Help, anyone?

I got the same error message while working on http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v483/karpik777/Sadrith%20Mora/MGEScreenshot44-1.jpg. In the first version, I positioned all those Telvanni ring-gates in the middle of the screen at the exact same coordinates and just altered their scale. I saved and exited the CS. When I reloaded the plugin, I got the error message that xx duplicate references were removed - most of those ring-gates. Apparently, Morrowind doesn't like to have more than one reference of the same object at a given position. I just moved every ring-gate a bit (0.001 units will already do) and never saw that error message again.

About the blackness in the game: that sounds a lot like the "zero fog" bug. Open the "World->Interior Cell..." dialogue and change your house's Fog setting to something different than R=0 G=0 B=0. For example R=5 G=5 B=5 is still a very dark fog, but it should prevent this bug.

Saying no is actually replying to the little "continue running executable" line, so it's no surprise it shuts down. ;)

Removing duplicate references is usually not a problem, but you might want to look at what was duplicated, and possibly clean your mod.

As for the black house, BHL and SilentThief have that covered, I should think. :)
