TES V - Hope for the Best

Post » Fri May 27, 2011 9:20 pm

I have no idea what they are going to do with TES V, because I have no idea what went on in the MQ of OB... I am not so sure who will be the emporer, let there be NO emporer, or whatever is going to happen to the throne, and start off a different type of government, such as the throne, not being used anymore, and change the rules and stuff...

Why did Bethesda have to end it this way? Are they trying to close down the series? Plus, every Elder Scrolls game from Daggerfall, just keeps getting smaller and smaller... but I have to admit that Daggerfall was way too huge, but thats a good thing. I just wish I could get Bethesda's attention and tell them my ideas of the lore, mechanics, and what they should do and such...

But my posts leave the bulletins so quickly due to other posts...

Anyway, what are your ideas of what they should do, or what is going to happen, and hopefully... it wont be a complete failure. I like gameplay, graphics are great and all, but they need to add back most things, even from daggerfall, such as climbing a straight-up wall skill would be nice....

A speculative plot may include Akavir, from Thurindiil's speech.

I've never played Daggerfall so I'm not sure about smaller but Morrowind and Oblivion seemed roughly the same size. As for having to end it this way, maybe they wanted to take TES into a new direction, I don't think Oblivion was the best direction, but it's their game.

A random lunatic in Anvil.

But of course, a random (religious) lunatic also prophesied Oblivion's MQ.

a speculative plot may include summeset isles, morrowind, skyrim, hammerfell, valenwood, elsweyr, highrock, vivec, the nerevarine, daedra, the dead emperor, akatosh, the existence of the thieves guild, the nonexistence of the thieves guild, mudcrabs, Quilweave, and calipers; from Oblivion rumors.

in other words, one character mentioning akavir is hardly support for a supposed plot. it is contradicted by other, more substantial rumors at to the plot/location of TES5, and goes against the tamrielocentrism of the TES games. not to mention akavir would be a pain in the ass to make.

Who?

Sorry, if it was from Morrowind, I never finished it. -_-

Anvil wasn't in Morrowind, so it means it's in Oblivion.

Thurindil. The wood elf who claims to be the love-child of julianos and an akaviri queen. he claims that his mother's coming for him in her dragonships, but adds that he hates his itchy clothes because it frightens the fish.

I think he's talking about the "the random (religious) lunatic also prophesied Oblivion's MQ" bit of the post. Seeing as Oblivion MQ started as soon as you exited the prison, Paw Prints is probably thinking of Eno Romani in Tribunal.

There also is Oddfrid White-Lip in Solstheim.

It's been speculated that the next game would involve a war, either among several provinces or Tamriel-wide. If that's the case, it will be interesting to see how Bethesda avoids duplicating the main quest of Oblivion -- avoiding having the player character search for a new ruler, for example. Akavir may not make an appearance at all. But it's all wild speculation at this point.

If it is Skyrim, you have the many feuding lords, the fighting at MW, Thuun, lots of fighting, and other stuff. With SI, you have the altmer politics going on, the Beautiful, pijjitcs, and other hidden agendas that are probable anti-imperial or anti-altmer ways. The other areas seem a little out of place from where OB ended.

Personally, I'm hoping for Summerset Isles. I'd like another alien setting, and I'd love it if they established a tradition of having even numbered games in more "traditional" settings (Daggerfall, Oblivion), and odd numbered (except Arena) in more "alien" settings.

It would be interesting if Akavir were to invade a province, such as the Summerset Isles, or Skyrim.

I doubt that the Tsaesci or any other Akaviri race would travel all the way around Tamriel to invade a isle full of snotty elves. You could always invade Morrowind. Then again, that always becomes a lost cause for them.

well the living gods no longer live there, and the militaristic houses are weakening significantly. If anything, if Akivar wasn't hit so badly by the oblivion gates, this is a perfect time to start picking away at Tamriel.

I agree here, but I doubt that TESV will be about Akavir.

I think it will be in either Skyrim or Summerset Isles. Summerset Isles would be cool, and I hope it goes this direction.
