Owning houses in Skyrim

Post » Fri May 27, 2011 11:09 pm

In Oblivion you could only own one house in each town, and I was thinking about the the possibility of owning multiple houses. I don't see the point of owning all the houses in the world but let's say you're able to own three houses in each town. A crappy one, a regular one and a luxurious one. What do you guys think?

PS. Sorry if this has been brought up before, I'm a newbie in this forums. (and also for the grammar, english is not my main language.)

The idea has some sense to it, but to be honest you have that concept already in oblivion, you got a bad one a regular one and a great one, they just give you the option of choosing one. The whole point was so that you didn't buy houses all in one spot, you can be like doing a quest and some of the equipment you may need is in your house in the city near your actual objective. I think its a good idea, but it isn't expanding overly much on what is already in the game.

I think it's an okay idea, i would like to live in any town I want in a house that fits my character. There should also unique houses aswell that arent in towns, bit like Battlehorn Castle and all the DLC from Oblivion.

There should be greater diversity in houses, for sure, but there should also be more reason to buy a house. My characters always ended up just living in the waterfront shack because I didn't feel like buying a better house and moving all my crap there.

I agree with this and well if they were to go back to the whole houses owning thing, I would like a greater bit of customization to the houses like the actual layout of the house along with more things to buy for it, as I felt the house was still empty for me when even buying everything.

I would actually appreciate more options but this is something that can be added/altered by modders (normally).

I would think if we had a [censored] house than we should be able to upgrade it over like lets say a full 7 months in game to a not so crappy house that has 2 stories or just more room and so on

So like this:
Crappy house-Completed
Crappy house with more room and or 2nd floor - 3-7 months
Crappy house rebuilt from ground up to be a nicer house depending how much $ you put into it (options are given and of course you can't live in it while it is being rebuilt but can visit) - 8months to 1 and a half years

Something like that ^ sure it might take awhile but wouldn't it be a surprize? I mean time goes fast in TES games like hell in Oblivion when I sent ppl out to do stuff or kill ppl and it said it would take a WEEKs time,I would sleep about 72 hours and get a pop up saying they were back.

((I think they should redo some stuff if something like this was done because I hate placing books and than to hit one with my foot and them go flying about 20 feet away))

Nooooooooooooooo thanks. Too much commitment there. What if I want to move? Also, why on earth would it take that long? Did we hire the worst contractors ever?

Isn't that normally how it would be? I mean a few months isn't bad hell 5 years isn't bad if they went by Oblivion time and even than it would be more real if it happend this time n even than like I said time goes by super fast it seems in TES tho they could re do that as well, you normally have enough money anyways to buy another house and it is optional
