I've just downloaded arena off the beth website also I've downloaded DOSbox to play it on. When I start it lags like hell, this shouldn't happen. I can play Morrowind with LOTS of graphical mod at around 40FPS and Oblivion maximum specs and no AA at 30 FPS.
So can anyone suggest a solution to help at all? Thanks.

Try raising the CPU cycles in DosBox CTRL+F12, Once you get it running well enough note the cycles and add them to your DosBox config. Every PC is different, yours migh need more/less cycles than mine.


Here's mine

core=dynamic
cycles=28000

Raise the frameskip to 1 (raise ctrl-f8, lower ctrl-f7) and the CPU cycles to 20000-30000(raise ctrl- f-12, lower ctrl-f11).
