What's Weynon?

The chapel of Talos is Weynon Priory, and in Skyrim there is a Shrine to Talos in the middle of some standing stones called the Weynon Stones. What is Weynon, and what does it has to do with Talos?

No bleeping idea. The meaning/significance of Weynon has never been brought up in the games. I'm gonna go out on a limb and say it's Tiber Septim's (or Zurin Arctus')middle name.

Nice catch. I just thought Weynon Priory was just at a place called Weynon, outside Chorrel. Now, obviously, that's quite wrong.

I wonder if "Weye" has any connection to the term?

Weye Old-Yew or Veje Yr-Ald, as in the Atmoranse tongueways which had great currency in His Imperial Cynosuries' earthly court, was the Imperator Septim's oldest and most trusted oathman and shieldthegn, tending to his liege's panoply at over a thousand engagements across Tam-Riel, also opening the occasional skull when an errant skirmisher ruded to close and from behind where his Master's Voice could not be wheeled about in time. Long and gnarly of limb, with a hard face seeming cut from heartwood, legend swirled about his giantish person, holding that the old Nord'man was not a man at all, but a great sprigchild, carved by the voice of Kyn herself from the last green Yew in the Elder Forest, to save the infant Talos when his crag-cradle was threatened by an Eagle, a Lion, and a Dragon.

Regardless, the histories at least can agree that for his service to the crown, many settlements and landmarks now bare his name.

[/speculation]
