HOW VAMPIRES SHOULD BE

Post » Sun Jun 03, 2012 11:24 am

Hi everyone! I really love the games and character development but there is something that i think should be corrected.. at least from my point of view I dont like so much the VAMPIRE advancing stage system .. I mean .. a Vampire is always in need of blood to survive and have his full power... why in Elders Scrolls is more powerfull if u dont feed??? I think this should be corrected you know: feeding to always have all skills and powers ... the less u feed the less powers and resists u have.. the stages are ok but i think they could be reversed.. the first day of vampirism should be like ugly appearance full sun damage and just little powers and boost... then after the character feeds more and more would gain advance trough stages.. i dont know maybe, one feed at the day would be enough. to keep the stage and another one to advance, and if u dont feed for a day or two u loss powers and a stage ... it supposed to the vampire to resist sun damage must be very very powerful.. so sun damage at the first stage should be a real pain.. while the more u feed the more u resist it and more skills and boost u should have .. am I right?

... this will encourage to being a REAL Vampire in Need of blood... instead of "no i wont drink blood to be more powerful buajaja" i mean is not logical...not for a Vampire who wants to be more powerful to conceal his/her true nature or maybe add a spell or skill of "disguise" to conceal the real beast within... but i think the first option i gave is better.. this way u keep feeding and feeding .. like a real vampire NEEDS... obviously the risks are being caught and the get bouny but HEY feeding is WRONG heheh..

I hope u take this in real consideratoon cuz i think Vampires is an extremely cool way of playing!!!

Thanks for all keep the good work with this SUPERB Games!!

What you said.

I kind of think vampire "how they should be" things should be held off until Dawngaurd is out because all of these seem a little redundant in not knowing what Bethesda has added.

Personally I'm glad the Elder Scrolls doesn't follow stereotypical conventions. Vampires, Dwemer, Dark Elves and other things are nicely differentiated from other fantasy worlds. In my opinion the last thing we need is for everybody to do exactly the same thing. I do not think vampires in the Elder Scrolls universe need to be "corrected" at all.

I think the way Bethesda works it is completely backward as well. In all other vampire mythologies the more blood a vampire feeds upon, the stronger they get. The blood is the life after all. While those who abstain, or just prolong their times between feeding, grow weaker.

If you play a vampire you'd realize that chosing all your fast travels based on where your spouce lives becomes tedious and not worth the Illusion and sneaking buffs. Hey.. twenty-four hours and bam.. I wasn't paying attention now I'm shooting pacify spells at everyone because I'm up 'sh** creek w/o a paddle'.

I think that it makes the game interesting. Besides that's what illusion is for, making people like you even if they don't:)
Vampire can become very strong in Skyrim if you choose Necromage perk, remember that. All buffs become stronger, it's undead after all.
I think that the idea of vampire being stronger if it does not feed means, that its last for blood becomes stronger. I can imagine that desperate vampire can be more vicious because of its situation. On the other hand its health declines, so this is quite consistent.

I think Dawnguard is going to fix all the vampire complaints. It looks amazing!

That's what happens when one's vampire ancestors went to Clavicus Vile to enhance their condition. But that isn't so for all of them and I can't imagine why it would stay that way in Dawnguard.

Note that this only happened with the Cyrodiilic vampires of the Order. They made a pact with Clavicus Vile and they are able to blend in society if they feed frequently. At a cost, they lose most of their supernatural strength and powers. If they want to be at their prime, they must starve themselves for 72 hours and also lose their human-like appearance. That's the catch, they cannot have one without the other. Morrowind vampires and the ones before them as different.

Yeah, basically.
