Murphy's Law

Post » Sun Jun 03, 2012 2:13 pm

Murphy's Law. Without going into pulling up too much detail (and linking a wikipedia page), Murphy's Law is: whatever can go wrong, WILL go wrong. That's how I understand it.

What are some of your Murphy's Law moments? Here are a couple of mine...

It's Murphy's Law that if you poison an arrow and it misses its shot, the next (unpoisoned) arrow WILL hit the enemy.

> It's Murphy's Law that enemies WILL attack your horse instead of you.

> Murphy's Law also states that at least once per game, I WILL witness a mudcrab conversation.

Murphy's Law dictates that I always need just ONE MORE health potion (that I don't have) to stay alive, not having saved in the last hour.

The chance of your enemy moving while your arrow is covering the 200 feet to its target goes up in direct proportion to the number of deadly effects in your applied poison.

you've never haerd of Murphy's Law? google it. :)

Murphy's Law also dictates that if I'm with my character, enjoying a nice peaceful walk, looking at some scenery, that some sort of nuisance creature (an imp, a wolf, a rat...) will try to ruin the mood!

ha! This one is sooo true, but in a different way for me.

It's Murphy's Law that if I have forgotten to save in the last 2 or 3 hours, my PS3 will encounter a screen-freeze.

If I get into a comfy position, ready for gaming, like 8 out of 10 times, I'll forget to put electrical tape on my TV to cover up the magical compass.

Actually, I'm not as bad as I used to be. Maybe 4 out of 10 nowadays.

This! I think it's built into the game.

:flamed:

If I go into the Skyrim forums, chances are I will get flamed at least once, usually for a totally innocent comment!!!

:meh:

I like turning music off in my games.

I delete my compass because I find it distracting.

I don't mind that it's cold in Skyrim.

SEriously! Flamed! For comments like that! :yuck:

Another of Murphenor's Laws is that if you have cast a shield spell, you will not meet another enemy until it is just about to wear off. The same with summonings.

If you have an Open Average Lock spell, all the chests you find will have Hard locks or worse.

 I love you, SubRosa.

Ooooh!!! If an NPC tries to guess our class, he will screw it all up. He won't just be wrong, chances are he'll be really wrong!

Murphy's Law causes the NPC I'm sneaking up on to not discover I'm there UNTIL my sword is already swinging at their back.

RIP Sneak Damage Bonus. RIP DiD Character.

if we've got a follower, he will do whatever it takes to ruin our efforts to sneak into a lair. ...that one's almost too obvious a law of Murphy.
