Wow, the pictures do look pretty impressive. Has your friend uploaded it somewhere? What kind of mod is it; a quest mod, a house mod, just a land somewhere? Is it just one piece of a bigger idea, or perhaps it's a modder's resource? Or did I misunderstand and it's a work in progress? A little more information about what it is (or is going to be) would help make it clearer to a potential tester if it's the sort of mod they are interested in. I have a weakness for pretty landscapes, so I'm already interested, but in general, a mod needs just a little more than just a landscape to be considered a "finished" mod.

I'm not trying to be discouraging, mind, just trying to understand what I'm looking at.

Looks quite cool from the screenshots, although i hate fake backdrops myself.

It would be better if you turned off collision and ran up into the sky so we could get an idea of teh scale of the thing too. Open up teh console and type "tcl" without brackets (just incase you didnt know how to do that :))

It looks nice, though it's a bit empty and the fake backdrop is a little jarring. Might look different in-game though.

I'd like to see more of the trees (close ups), they look very natural! But the trunks seems a bit square. The colors/textures are extremely well done :)

Aren't those trees from that "Polished Landscapes" Mount & Blade mod?

There's no problem in that as long as he got permission to release them, if he's even releasing it, the author of the thread don't say.

the pine tree does look very similar?

could also be that they're using a commercial program that has these tree models, because they look very professional to me. Distributing such trees is illegal btw (not saying they are in fact commercial trees or created by such a program, i'm just very impressed by how they look and makes me wonder :) )

Those low poly trees might be pretty fps friendly as well :)

afaik the author of those models(trees and buildings) works in the industry, so no wonder they look professional, they are.

ah, that explains the quality, cool :)

I guess the ground textures are from him as well, they also have a very natural color.

Hey guys,

Just to clarify. Those screens are of a new test cell that was made for the city mod which was started a few years ago by Shannon and Barabus. A few people were asked to try the new resources in-game. I guess at least one of them liked them. :)

The trees were, indeed, made by Gutekfiutek. He gave us his permission to convert his trees & buildings one or two months ago. The ground and rock textures in that screen are by me (they're from my http://planetelderscrolls.gamespy.com/View.php?view=Mods.Detail&id=6690). I believe the terrain meshes are by Barabus, Shannon and a Neverwinter Nights modder who recently gave us permission to convert some of his models.

Expect an official update soon. :)

Best wishes,

Swiveller
