Dwemer and Malacath

Fair point about the different witnesses, as it's one of the reasons there are so many variations of the same myth. But I still disagree that Dumac has any relation to Malacath. Firstly because we're told he doesn't, which is simple enough. Second because Trinimac being dead doesn't stop his name being used to infer a reenactment to which Malacath has no mythical ties, and for which he clearly isn't suited as an understudy.

First off, Trinimac is about as dead as Jyg was before SI, which is to say not at all.

Malacath does have mystic ties ton the incident, by proxy of association.

Trinimac was present there, and thus has a connection (obviusly).

Malacath is Trinimac's other, obviusly related significantly to Trinimac. Thus, Malcath is associated with the incident by proxy.

Then it's hardly necessary for the balladeer to mislead people into thinking Dumac has some relation to Malacath and by some convoluted extension, the enantiomorph.

Malacath is Trinimac's other, obviusly related significantly to Trinimac. Thus, Malcath is associated with the incident by proxy.

And I say he's about as associated with it as George Bush was with Whitewater. Which is to say, not at all. In a previous life, Malacath was something else. A different individual. A stranger to what he is now. You're welcome to continue reasserting the relationship as if I densely misunderstand, but I still don't believe his ties to that role are strong enough to draw such links because of an offhand remark about Dumac we know now to have been intended as an insult.

It's worth noting that Dumac is called dwarf-orc in both dunmer and nord sources. Also, Varieties of Faith associates Malacath with Red Mountain:

Mauloch (Malacath): An Orcish god, Mauloch troubled the heirs of King Harald for a long time. Fled east after his defeat at the Battle of Dragon Wall, ca. 1E660. His rage was said to fill the sky with his sulphurous hatred, later called the "Year of Winter in Summer".

Would you like some bread with that whine? There's a reason MK is mentioned more than Tedders, and that's because adventures and romances just don't hold all that much lore. History does, but there's usually less interpretation needed for sources in the guise of academic papers, those typically being interpretations themselves of already extant primary sources. This is no slight on Tedders, but he gives us less to talk about, despite his immense contribution. By his own confession, he does not go in for metaphysics, which is where my interest lies and on which subject most of the meaty debates take place.

I will endeavor to give you more to talk about in the future, Albides.
