I am a Canadian with a US copy

Post » Tue Dec 29, 2009 8:22 pm

I was lucky enough to buy the US version of the DLC when it came out, but it has been removed from my download list and I won't be able re-download it if I was ever to lose all my data on my PS3. And it's not only about the Collector's Edition. Many stores in Canada are selling regular edition of the US game. I don't even own the Collector's Edition and yet, my copy of the game is a US version.

I stand corrected. I figured it was much more common up here than just the CE ones. Wait a minute they took if off the download lists??? I'll check mine.

It's still showing up on my download list and I had re-downloaded it a second time after they'd taken it down. I've got the same version as you so that's odd.

Don't ask me. Ask Sony. :sadvaultboy:

**UPDATED** Apparently, I got refunded for that. Weird. I guess I'll have the simply re-buy the DLC once it get back up.

Yep this is what happened to me and i called Sony and they told me they will not be putting the US add-on on the Canadian PSN and i and still freaking mad about it in a email i got this reply from Sony.

"I apologize for any inconvenience that you may be having with the add-on content for Fallout New Vegas. I understand this can be frustrating. Unfortunately, many content is region coded. This is something the game publishers do it is out of our hands to determine what content is released on the Playstation?Store. In this case you may need to create a U.S. PlayStation?Network account or purchase the Canadian version of the game disc."

Regards,
E.M

That email is so full of crap. I preordered Fallout NV on Xbox and my friend got it on PS3 (from the same EB games). I was able to download and play Dead Money with NO issues after I bought it off Xbox Live but now he and I can't play it on the PS3 cause of some region code issue. Here is my question then: If it is the fault of game publishers putting region code lock then why does it work on Xbox? It don't make sence to do it on one system and not on the other.

Both US and Canadian version works on the PS3, since they're both "region 1" games, so indeed their answer is pure BS and they just don't want to put back the US version of the add-on for the Canadian PSN store. So there's no region lock and Sony's support service is either crap or they should hire people who knows what they're talking about.

I'm told there's definitely a solution for this and it'll be in the next patch that gets rolled out.

Any ETA on the patch?

1 month?
6 months?
the same time as the patch to fix fallout 3 freezing issues?

Let's just hope it will come out *before* the next add-on... The "Honest Hearts" add-on is still coming out on April 19, right?

What I want to know is, should we hold onto the DLC we've downloaded (the French/English Version) and wait for a patch to make it playable, or would it be better to get a refund and download a newer DLC that will be put on the playstation store?

The update appears to be at least a few weeks off still. That decision is really up to you.

Are you serious? this is so frustrating. First we have to wait longer for the ps3 dlc, then when I purchased it right away it didn't work with my collectors edition. Its been 2 months and I really feel disappointed, however what I'm mostly concerned about is future DLC like Honest Hearts. :swear: :banghead:

Edit: Removed post because I was entirely wrong. Bethesda and Obsidian promised and they delivered. I got the new patch and installed Dead Money and it was good to go.
Kudos guys I was extremely worried I wouldnt get to enjoy any of the DLC for FO NV
