Redguard and Orc Heads

Post » Tue Dec 29, 2009 8:24 pm

Hey, I was wondering if anybody had any suggestions for orc or redguard face packs. I'm far from new to the Morrowind mod scene, and of course I've looked at the famous mod lists, but I haven't been able to find many(any) good packs for these races. Any suggestion would be appreciated.

What look/style are you going for?
What appeals to you in the characteristics of
each of these races, as such would best define
what mod's direction to which you might be pointed :) .

Like I said, I have seen the most common and popular head packs, those listed on Telesphoros' List of mods, Better Heads, Don Salus', etc. I've been looking and it's difficult to find decent heads for these races so ANY help is welcome.

Let me elaborate a bit on my query above :)...

For the Orcs, for example, do you prefer a more Pig Like appearance (akin to the stock faces)?
Or, perhaps, do you prefer an Orc more akin to the "Warcraft" style?
Maybe a more brutish face with a "Mongolian" flair is more to you liking?
Is realism important, or does a more painterly approach to the texture
fit best with the style of your gaming experience?

Of late, I can reccomend Illuminiel's Fresh Faces (at PES [Planet Elder Scrolls]
afaik) and her Redguard pack (using great quality photo sources for the base of the
textures, so they do have a great deal of realism).

I'd suggest my own packs, but they are on the lists mentioned (so might not be
your cup of tea, as ti were).

I do have a current head pack (or rather sets of packs) in progress, though (I have
not yet released the Redguards, but the Orcs are completed on a basic level) :) .
The WIPz thread is hovering about somewhere in this forum (so a quick search
should turn it up).

Take Care

Thanks, I already use some of your mods so I'll give another look at your head packs.

(In general:)
Honestly, the only qualm I have about some of the head packs out there, especially for orcs, are they are too beautiful. I like the BH orc faces but they are quite limited.

My own orcs (well the females) are a bit beautiful as, at the time, this is what I wanted for my own game as well as what others wanted. They will be updated in the "near" future, though, to be made a bit more gruff (as well as increasing their resolution). Ultimately, they will use elements similar to the ones that I made for my pluginless Orc replacer so that they feel more like an indigenous people, rather than a texture for the texture's sake (which is what they were before; nothing wrong with that, but as I want them to actually replace heads rather than only be player character heads, such is needed to blend them all together as a united populace [somewhat]).

Here is a link to my WIPz...

There's not too much in the way of variety with Orcs and Redguards, which is a shame as both rank as my favourite races.
http://planetelderscrolls.gamespy.com/View.php?view=Mods.Detail&id=7493 is one that is a must if you play a native of Hammerfell.

Those are my personal favorite Orc heads. Unfortunately many of the the "download these mods" lists lack some very excellent work from some talented artists/modders.

Redguards aren't so difficult to find really.

I saw those earlier, look great but I'm pretty confident at least some are celebrity faces and that's a no for me :(

Thanks, though. :D

I use http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=14435 and love it. It's a large download (even when it's split up) but you don't have to use the faces for every race, you can just install the 'Nord and Orc' and 'Breton, Imperial and Redguard' packs.
It contains some celebrity faces, but you don't have to choose them.

I was looking at that but was a bit confused. Is the "No Stock Change" version not a replacer?

This Version of THE Facepack Compilation has had the mesh assignments for the stock face and hair (example: b_n_dark elf_m_head01) stripped out. This will allow users to freely interchange plugin-less face replacers, such as Telesphoros'Vvardenfell Visages, to adjust the appearance of the NPCs to suit their tastes.

In essence, the no-stock-change isn't a replacer as it adds the faces/hairs for PC use only.

As for a Redgaurd facepack, Illys Redgaurds are a must as far as I'm concerned. :twirl:

Like I said, they are great. I just don't need Rihanna and Seal (and Laurence Fishburne?) watching me play Morrowind.
