Post » Tue Dec 29, 2009 8:39 am

This chandelier is the same one that is in Summetmist manor it lights that up pretty good, why wont it light up this room?

Does its ID ends with "FAKE" ?
Some lights have that "FAKE" suffix that indicates they do not emit light at all.

In Summitmist Manor, look if there are any lightbulbs close to the chandelier. This must be the main light.

There are chandeliers in the "static" section that will not light up, and there are chandeliers in the "light" section (right above it), that have all the ones that work.

I got it from the "light" section.

Try opening up the chandelier and looking at its radius....if it's set really low, you won't get much or any light at all.

Try to crank it up some to see if that helps.

Its the default light, I didn't copy it from Summitmist just so you know. Even copying it from Summitmist it doesn't work.

Edit: I even went as far as copying the lighting from summitmist manor on the Cell Window (the Ambient,Fog, & Directional).

Edit: I have come to the conclusion that The light does not shine because this is an Interior that I retextured, Why this happens IDK, Doesn't in morrowind, so now the question is How do I fix it?

You are most likely missing normal maps for your textures. Without normal maps textures aren't affected by dynamic light (only by ambient light). There are several articles on the Wiki about normal maps and how to create them.

I have made a Normal map, do I have to put it in the CS or anything or will it just work as long as the normal map is the same directory as the texture?

You need to put it in the same folder with the same name and a '_n' suffix, there is nothing else you need to do. For example if your texture is

textures\MyMod\wall.dds

then the normal map needs to be

textures\MyMod\wall_n.dds
