Not another skill, climbing could be part of acrobatics? It could be part of athletics?

No one climbs enough to actually get good at the skill!

Climbing was awesome in Daggerfall. What do you do when you arrive at the majestic Daggerfall City at night and the gate is closed? You climb over the [censored] walls that's what you do!

I would, but that would probably mean more invisible walls. :(

That would be interesting if there were open cities but I am not sure if they plan to do that this time around.

I think they need climbing... was unfair for the melee based npcs to run around aimlessly or resort to ranged when there was no way for them to get to you on roofs. Also climbing just sounds fun... just another thing to do.

Yes, climbing needs to come back. It expands the game world and allows better role play for thieves and assassins.

Yes, but only if done properly.

There was a mod that allowed for a grappling hook on certain walls/objects which you could climb up. I think it'd also be great if there were vines etc. going down the side of a house.

When you walk up to a wall (assuming your skill in climbing is high enough) a option would appear on screen to go into climbing mode. In climbing mode the player cant use weapons, spells, potions, ect. You would use your courser to find a spot to put your hand(s) and use your left and right mouse button to determine which hand to use.

Thats the way to do it Bethesda. ^up there^

Probably my biggest yes vote here ever. Bring back the climb (and run, and jump, and swim etc etc) skills rather than generalizing everything into acrobatics and athletics.

i think there would be way to many flaws with climbing. i can see climbing up a ladder or something of the sort but scaling walls or climbing up graqevines to get to a balcony would end up being problematic and it would be too assassins creed like.

I would love to have climbing in the coming TES game, but I'm not sure if Bethesda could succeed in creating such an ability. I'll have to link to the place where I got htis from, but they haven't even been able to handle climbing a ladder, how could they honestly create a climbing system for wall, rocks, etc.? At most I think they would create load doors that take you to the top and say you "climbed" it.
If they do implement climbing into the game, however, I'd be extremely glad.

I'm sure it'd be very hard to implement, but though I think city climbing is a little out of reach, perhaps mountain climbing of some sort could be done well.
I think it'd be better to include it within the acrobatics skill, but it beats running vertically such as shown in Oblivion.

Yes, as far as it is well implemented, AC Style is cool btW but wouldn't fit I guess.
Also it should be related to your Acrobatic-skills, so that you cannot start the game and climb up every [censored] castle.
And it should also be effected by your current inventory, the more weight you carry, the more difficult it will be to climb up walls

I'd be happy with just being able to climb ropes and they could give us a grapple. Anywhere you could get the grapple to hold you could climb up but that wouldn't mean you could always transition.

Climbing, running, swimming, jumping, falling. Instead of Acrobatics and Athletics. Or, start with a general Acrobatics and Athletics skill, and later on choose what to specialize in when you reach a certain level (and you can only choose one). You chose running for the added speed bonus? You'll still get the Athletics skill while swimming, but you won't be a swimming master. You could keep branching off like this as well: Do you want to jump far or jump high? Do you want to swim fast or master breath control? Do you become a marathon runner or a sprinter? Too wild?
