It has been fifty years since the Oblivion crisis, and the lands are still licking their wounds. Self-proclaimed Emperors tried in vain to rise into the throne. All were assassinated or eliminated otherwise. The Dark Brotherhood is at large, several other assassin organizations are working hand in hand with the Brotherhood. The Crimson Scars' hideout is a haven for all Cyrodilic vampires. They have a strong hate for the savage vampires from Black Marsh and the other neighboring provinces. Bandits are joining the tens of Mafias that have sprung up in the big cities. At least twenty reside in the Imperial City, not to mention the many small families that declare themselves Mafia. The biggest mobs in the palace district, the smallest in the Waterfront. The level of racism has fallen drastically; if you could swing a weapon or write and read, you could join a Mafia. But not all Mafias are like so, some of the more extravagant ones are very exclusive. The whole of Cyrodil is run by these Mafia, its economy growing large and very, very profitable. But these are dark times as well as good, assassination is at large, many important leaders are at constant danger from these hitmen.

You are the lowest of the low, scum that not even the Waterfront will accept. You are murderers, thieves, hitmen, assassins, gangsters, backstreet politicians, thugs, muscle, low lives and drug addicts. You may rise and fall in power, that is up to you and your choices. You live in the Compton of Cyrodil. Cheydinhal. It has become a center for crime, drugs, [censored], murders, etc. You may form Families, gangs, mobs, crews, any kind of group that you can think of, but if you manage to actually get enough players / npcs to form a family, it is not a sure fire thing, it is an unstable thing that can fall and crumble from the death of one or two people even. It is an unstable time, but a good time if you are smart.

You start out with 0 respect, and as you go you might grow respect, or even lose it. If you lose too much people may go out of their way to put YOU out of your way, if you catch my drift. If you think that you have gained respect, send me a PM and I may raise it for you. You may not make any group, gang, or mafia, bigger than 2 people until you get at least 20 respect. That is if you manage to make it in this cruel, hard world.

You can make business in almost anything; six, drugs, killing, crafts, and many other things. I don't want everyone being an assassin I want some damned creativity.

Name: Ferrus "Ferman" Manus
Age: 23
Gender: Male
Race: Dunmer
Height: 6'3
Personality: Charismatic and sometimes too cheerful.
Appearance: Darkness surrounds his eyes, and his short beard covers the bottom half of his face. His nose is hooked, and has piercing green/brown eyes. Ferrus has greased back hair and as dark as Dunmer skin goes. Manus's leather cloak covers an iron chestplate and leg guards, his arms only armored in leather. Very tall for his race, but not scrawny.
Short Bio: Born and raised in Cheydinhal, which made him hard. He doesn't hesitate if he has to kill someone or something, and can be quite brutal when he does so. No extraordinary history, just the usual gangster.
Equipment: Iron armor, an iron longsword and a steel dagger he stole from a guard. A beautiful leather cloak draqed over his back that he can't really remember where he got it.

Not to be mean, Walrus, but it dosn't look like that fun. It just seems like you would carry out countless orders until you developed the ability to send out your own orders. It also doesn't work well in a TES world, unless you are underworld-ish. Sorry

Plus: You already have one RP, it would be quite difficult to manage two.

My other RP just lost 2 people and is going quite slow atm. Also, where do you get the idea that I would be carrying out countless "orders"... My goal is to create a free rp where basically anything is possible. My character starts at 0 respect just like the rest of the players and he is the same as the others. They grow and develope.. It works fine in a TES world.. And it makes sense. After the crisis people resorted to violence and created organized crime groups that run everything.

That has never happened in the history of mankind. (not counting South America, Africa, or Carribean Countries as they are Third-World)
Cyrodil is the centerhold of Tamriel, where the Elder Council and Emporer live, it wouldn't resort to violonce.

Germany, Japan, Russia, and Hungary are all prime examples of destroyed countries that rebuilt. I have no doubt in my mind that Cyrodil can too.

Areyo kidding? That kinda stuff happens all the time. Why do you think crime has such a choke hold on so many aspects of modern first world society aswell as 3rd world.

Not after a 50-year time period. Maybe in the first 5 years, then democracy, dictatorship, communism, etc. takes hold, and laws are enforced; fascism can become a result of a hardcoe crime-run country.

Democracy dictatorship communism. What do they all have in common? Crooked people in authority willing to be blackmailed by crime lords. England has had democracy for wat? couple hundred years? since the romans left? We have crime o the rise every day, what about america? Crips n bloods? Gun crime? Knife crime? Murder?

How about Russia? Some of the biggest drug smuggeling rings in the world are from there.

So in my opinion, it is more than perfectly possible that it would happen and take place openly in the TES universe. Theres even illegal commodites that people want which could be provided by a crime family looking to gain control over said product.

Organized Crime operates in secrecy, and avoid things like the CIA and FBI. Although local law enforcement have a way of overlooking them, it's because of their own safety. Governments have much more urgent things to worry about (Iran) then Organized Crime, let alone make deals with them. I'm sure that sometimes there are deals, but the country is not run and governed by crime itself.

For those who would say this would never happen, you should read up on how the Italian states got pretty rich after about 1204 and how banks became created. The Sicilian Cosa Nostra or better yet it's medieval roots.

As for why this RP won't work is because it doesn't have any life. Eventually I plan on doing something somewhat similar if you can be patient, but don't feel any obligation for it.

This RP will be locked, so, you guys can argue and crap, but you can't have a second RP, unless you kill the other one.
