I'm positive it will never happen (Seeing as it's just the highest number for their calander.) , it's just the same deal as the Y2K, but for fun I would probably have bought a shotgun, a leather suit, and an australlian shepard.

The prediction of a masive solar flare that will hit the earth December 21st 2012? Strange thing is there is supposed to be massive solar flare on or around that date. A once in a 100 year solar flare. I'll make sure I have enough ammo and beer :foodndrink:

The only interesting thing about 2012 is how the Mayans were able to predict such a series of solar events with such precision many ages ago when we have just been able to replicate such feats with superior technology. That is intensely interesting. Everything else is hogwash.

If you research the Maya Calender that you think predicts the end of the world, you'll realize that's it's simply the start of a new B'ak'tun within the calander. This is supposed to happen every 144,000 days.

This has happened before, lastly on September 8, 1618. At this time, they created a continuation of the calander. This would have happened again on December 21st, 2012, had the Mayan empire surived until that date.

Oh, and here's a Mayan priest saying that the calendar does not predict the end of the world - http://www.in5d.com/mayan-priest-2012.html

Nice list you got there. If you look into the future tab, you notice alot of different dates, including Dec 21st 2012, up to 2040 and then there's the giant leap to ca 4,500,000,000 when the sun is predicted to swell into a red giant and consume Mercury, Venus, Earth and possibly Mars :P I believe more in that. And I hope it's more like that, because I wan to see the late 21st century.

Why is there nothing later than 2040? Is there anything wrong with 2112 21/12 21:12?

I noticed that as well S-B I did find it odd but I figured maybe if you are in the doomsaying buissness maybe you want it to happen in your life time so you get to say see i told you so thats why there are not any that far out.. I also find it a bit odd that it seemed most of his time table had mainly a religious theme to em but maybe thats just how it pans out but seems strange there was no mention of Norse mythology Heh Ragnarok was was pretty damn gloomy, or the black death which was a real terror in the 1300's, and strange 9 -11 was mentioned and yet none of the events of WW 2 were mentioned which for me even seemed might be seen as the coming end (specally if you were of Jewish or Japanesse decent)... though I must say his Y2K thing is as funny as tis true as I was here for that idocy

Funny I do not think the originator of that page has been on for a few years, sure hope he has not meet his own personal apocolypse (the one most of us wont see coming)

Well the Y2K thing is 100% different then Nostrooldguy, 2012, and all the other end-o-world hoopla. I still think the reason Y2K did not do anything is because Social Security, and other high impact places took steps to fix the issue before the problem.

However I can't help but get a warm fuzzy feeling every time I survive the end of the world... even if nothing goes wrong :) . I predicted that after 2013 the next doomsday prophecy will be 2015, and will deal with... the Internet becoming sentient. It knows all... ALL our secrets...

I keep six months worth of food stored just in case something happens, however I live like twenty minutes south of my states capital, and forty minutes north of a rather large training ground for soldiers so odds are it will not matter anyway :sadvaultboy: .

I read this survival book that brought up a good point; even if you never need the emergency supplies you stowed to use for the end of the world, think of how useful it will be if you lose your job or have some other major financial crisis and you have several months of food and supplies to use until you're back on you're feet.

I'm not sure if I'd survive a hypothetical nuclear war. I do live 100 miles from Fort Bragg, but my city (Winston-Salem) doesn't have any strategic importance other than being a population center.

Actually, google keeps a record of what everyone searches, and lists the names of the people who search for them, and records where they live. :stare: SKYNET IS BEING BUILT LOLOLO

Y2K = Another Doomsday (Proven false, as we are talking today.) like 2012.

Aside from North Korea and Islamofascists, nobody in their right mind would use nukes without realizing the horrible consequences. If anything, the WTO/Enclave would see nuclear war against their plans of economic global hegemony.
