First off, I have to say, love all of Bethesda's games since way back with Oblivion.

Anyway, 3 guys walk into a weapons shop (silver something just outside of vegas, and yes, I kinda wanted it to sound like a joke) and one of them decides to walk past the guards. It tells me that a missions failed so instead of running away like crazy, stealing a bunch of guns on the way out, I decide to just die because I figured I'd want to do the mission later. So I let them kill me and I try to load the save game and my xbox freezes on the load screen. Now, every time I try to load that particular save, it just freezes about 3 seconds in and won't do anything. I REALLY don't want to go back to my last save and try to figure this out so I was hoping there was a way around this on the xbox. I tried clearing my xbox's cache and went ahead and installed the game, but neither seems to have worked...

I figured I'd try just letting the game sit for a bit and try to work itself through but so far it's been 5 minutes and nothing. My whole xbox freezes during this, I can't even access the guide so I don't know what it is. Anyway, hoping someone can help, thanks for reading.

Join the club, your now one of thousands of New vegas owners unable to load there save files due to them getting corrupted, have a read through the hundreds of posts on this forum complaining about the very same issue, all you can do is load a save file before you completed the " Come fly with me " quest ( if you have one ), or start from scratch and complete the come fly with me quest by another means ( Blackessence did a mini guide ), or wait like the rest of us for a patch that could come today, next week or your guess is as good as mine.

Have somebody tried to skip the "come fly me quest" ? wonder if that helps the dlc problems to never enter thar [censored]hole..

I have the same problem with all saves.

Me to mate, can't play the game now until a patch comes out as im not starting over again, and to the guy that asked if you avoid that quest will it help, in some cases yes it has worked, but can you really risk putting in another 20-30 hours to have the saves files corrupted ?, im certainly not taking the risk, once bitten twice shy.

Haven't been able to play for a few days now. Emailed support twice without any reply. Feel like I've been mugged

you can actually skip it and not have to do it after i started my new game when my first save went bad im in the strip right now and ive already gotten banned from a casino for winning to much
but all you have to do is find that manny vargas guy's house in novac its right under the motel room you can buy if you decide to do so and go in and look through his computer and you dont have to hack it or will get in trouble if he sees it but read the one note on there and you wont have to do "come fly with me" to continue on through the main quest

I agree, this is lame. i cant load any ov my saves, except for (Save 002) and im lvl 1 on that. I get "this save relys on Downloaded content that is nolonger available" then "The selected storage device is nolonger available" grrrrrr

This is definitely something to do with the “Come fly with me” quest, although you can complete some of it. For me the bug popped up when I re-entered the rocket factory after clearing out the basemant of the blue super mutants (nightcrawlers??). So I have managed to continue the game (so far) by leaving the basemant (via the ladder) and no completing this quest. You don’t need to complete this quest anyway as the details you need are in the snipers room on the unlocked terminal.

I do have the space suit (which a lost of people say causes the problem) but it’s in my room at the Dino hotel. So far I have managed to play for about 3-4 hours past this mission and the game is loading/saving with out any problems.

I have heard of other people coming across the same problem on the strip, but I haven’t made it that far yet. Could it have something to do with where the DLC they are releasing later on in the year is going to be added? Are some of the DLC’s going to take us on the rocket to were the ghouls went or give us extra things to do on the strip? Just guessing at this point!

Note Bethesda/Obsidian – I am a die hard fan of your adventure games (so much so that I vas really upset when I couldn’t find the collectors edition anywhere and had to make do with the normal edition) and have even converted some of my friends, but this really needs to be fixed ASAP. Its go to the point no where I save the game every 20mins and then have to teat the save works!

Having the exact same problem! So freaking annoying! BETHESDA/OBSIDIAN, GIVE US A PATCH IMMEDIATELY!

I'm 30 hours into the game. Did the " Come fly with me" quest without any glitch or freeze. Havent had a single save bug or serious issues. Maybe I'm just lucky :celebration:

Why? I had awesome guns and armor in my corrupted save file! My last save file was 4 hours ago, I don't want to do that all over again!!!!! SO PLZ GIVE US A PATCH! :banghead:

I wouldn't say its only to do with the Come Fly With Me quest. I had no issues getting through that quest, nor any other. Unfortunately I still got the corrupt save file. The first time I got to the Strip my game froze and that spurred the corrupt save. Now any time I try to enter the Strip my game just freezes directly after the loading screen on a black screen. Anyone else have/heard of similar problem from the Strip?

Incorrect. This glitch has NOTHING to do with any said quest, despite many people having the problem around there. I was 25 hours in...way, way, WAY past the point of completing "Come Fly with Me."...I fast traveled from Gun Runners to Mojave Outpost, turned the game off once I arrived to take a break...come back 2 hours later, and all 5 of my manual saves PLUS my auto-save were defunct.

Hate to say it, but this isn't tied to anyone one quest or anything in particular...it's just something that happens randomly to people.

Great that makes it even worse! I definitely can’t do the ‘come fly with me’ quest though, I tried to complete it several times and every time I saved and went to load, I got the error message.

I guess that I am going to have to stick to saving every 20 mins or so, until they patch us up :sadvaultboy:

Negative, Haven't even gotten close to that quest giver, avoided it when I saw the bug and it stilled happened to me.

I am just guessing since this bug started happening with the recent patch that it has something to do with what that patch fixed and it broke something(FIXING SOMETHING BROKE IT,GG), but its happened to alot of people randomly and theres no specific thing that it can be narrowed down to that its taking them awhile to figure out not making excused for them .. 28 hours into the game, most of my saves bugged the only saved that worked...18 hours and 5 lvls below it...painful...this needs fix before this SH** happens again, until then...fable III here i come.
