Support E-Mail Sent, response likely?

Hi all,

Unlike many other users I have read the forum rules and so haven't posted my aggravation and irritation towards this games unbelievably bad errors.

I would like to know though if any of you have had an actual response from the Support email function.

I am convinced the constant hanging of my system has caused some actual damage to the console as I am no longer able to play quite a lot of my previously perfect games.

Irked is an understatement

I doubt turning on/off a console using the proper power button will damage the console itself. The operating system of the console is not on the hard disk that much since xbox360 used to come without a hard disk. When you press the power button to shut down, the effect is not instantaneous and you still have a wait few seconds for it to turn off. It will be a different story if you physically pull the power cord out or switch off the power at the power bar, just like the case of a power outage. That way the console cannot execute its shut routine and you can probably damage the console in some way.

this is true but in this instance the powering down is instant. it makes a quite pained noise too which is a worry.

Now i get a lot of disc read errors on games that have long been installed to the hdd and have worked like a dream for months

that is what i cannot understand really

This happened to me too. Fallout New Vegas killed my Xbox. It worked fine until I started playing Fallout, now it only starts up 25% of the time, and even then it freezes soon after!
