Ringing in Ears

Post » Fri Jan 08, 2010 12:52 am

I've had a [censored] annoying ringing noise in my left ear the past few months. Its really only noticable when theres no noise going on about me. Basically, I think it was caused by trapped water (from a bath) and it had happened before, yet only lasted a week at the most.

Any tips for stopping it? (other than ear amputation or making myself deaf)

And please, no pointing out the obvious like "It's tinnitus!" (Probably is)

Go see a doc. It could be tinnitus. It can be caused by muscle tension (neck and shoulder area, namely from sitting too long on the computer without pause combined with everyday stressors), like in my case. I don't think the forums have any licensed doctors.

I have the same problem. I get a really loud ringing in my ears when there's silence. I've been having this happen for years, though, so it doesn't bother me much.

EDIT: Well, mine isn't so much a ringing as it is a solid tone.

Aliens are trying to communicate with you as you are the chosen one. Word on the street is that your doctor knows how to decipher these ringing sounds so you can communicate with the aliens. I suggest seeing him so you can broker a peaceful relationship with them.

I say ignore it, the CIA will stop transmissions soon enough. :ninja: But if you must, I guess a doctor would be willing to help... for a price

I am glad to see the tradition of asking medical advice on a forum full of gamers is alive and well.

If you are concerned, the only accurate advice will be from a professional, so go see one.
