Wait, lights can't use shotguns? I thought they could use the pumpaction-ones as primaries? (Whereas heavies can use all kinds as both primary and secondary and mediums can use pumpaction as both primary and secondary.)

last i had heard, shotguns are a medium weapon, main for a medium / secondary for a heavy only

which, to me only leaves a few pairings that make any sense
Medium - Shotgun/Short rifle (SMG makes little sense as they are both CQC)
Heavy - Auto-Shotgun/Assault Rifle (easy choice, short and long range)
Heavy - Shotgun/Heavy Weapon (preferably something that compliments the shotgun, such as the automated grenade launcher, you wouldn't want to be firing nades in CQC)

Having a pump action as a light weapon would be nice, allowing many complimentary pairings (such as with the single shot nade launcher), but I haven't heard anything about it. Would even be able to have semi-auto as a medium weapon and full auto as a heavy.

I would actually be fine with a kind of shotgun the Scout in TF2 uses, too. It just doesn't feel right to play a very agile character without a shotgun.

Heavy, demoman, and sniper would be easy; medic might be passable; but because lights cant use shotguns, scout will be a bit difficult to recreate. Without his shotgun and baseball bat, scout is just an overconfident skinny guy from NYC.

I meant accents and costumes mainly, but I see your problem with the shotguns. How about a special http://www.steamfriends.com/images/news/hl2/dbshotgun.jpg style double barrel shotgun that works like a pistol? Weak compared to magnums and real shotguns, but still with scatter shot.

They could possibly put in a Taurus Judge, its a pistol designed to hold either .45 rounds or 410 shotgun shells, 5 of either, in any combination you like.

On Topic - In the start of the first container city video, the voices and accents seem pretty high quality. Assuming that each accent has separate voice acting for the cut scenes, I'm looking forward to the end product, it could be pretty classy.

Correct me if I'm wrong but don't the accents correspond to the archetype you pick. Say if you pick a Jamaican archetype you would have a Jamaican accent.

Edit: Sorry I was wrong it seems that accents have nothing to do with archetype and accents can be selected for any character. Lol that was embarrassing sorry guys I'll double check before I say something next time.

Quick question then, do the archetypes exist in the game I was under the impression that the basis of a characters face was pre-made and that players had to choose a face from the those available but a player can add many things to a character's face after a face was chosen.

:)

the archetypes exist ingame, i suppose the face depends on the archetype you choose, but indeed, you can add things, bandages, facepaint. and then you can change the hair, haircolour, facial hair.
i think they chose that road because when you can customise the faces completely, it hardly ever turns out looking good.

The way i understand the archetypes, they will be a complete package, though I doubt they will each have their own voice. The player, however, is able to mix and match different pieces of archetypes together to make their own custom look, complete with color options and what-not. You don't have to pick a single archetype, each one is just a collection of clothes and features.

Worms 4 had alright voices. You picked a voice set for each team, and they said prerecorded phrases in the right places. Simple, but a nice variety.

You could have secret voices, like Robot or Knight, just as a free unlock for pros.

Ha didn't think that a simple thread on the voices would have so much interest, might edit my first post with a list of whats confirmed and what the community would like.
