OK. So I decided to buy the CDs with DLC instead of "joining" Windows Live and downloading the content. First issue that occurred was the CDs were not reading on my DVD RW player. Everything else works, CDs, DVDs, the game, etc... but for some reason both the expansion CDs wouldn't run. At that point I used an old Laptop to download the content onto a thumb drive, then install it on my main computer. This worked for Operation Anchorage, Point Lookout, and The Pitt. The install went fine and the programs run (quests appear and everything). However, the Broken Steel DLC does not run:

1) I had a CRC error when attempting to install the content for Broken Steel. The error claims that the "medium" is corrupted.
2) When I load the game with the DLC checked on, it just sits on the main menu screen - I do not have any mouse, etc. It just sits with the picture of the power armor looking at me.

Any help on this would be nice... I am sure it has something to do with my CD not running and using a thumb drive to install... though it is a little disheartening when that's really the ONLY content I needed to install so I can go beyond level 20... very frustrating...

The thumb drive idea should work, but if bad data is being copied from the CD to the thumb, the install will be hosed. Try wiping the CD with a damp, lint free cloth. Wipe across the disk and not around it.

As an alternative, HeyYou swears by dropping the disk in the toilet and flushing a couple of times. Make sure the disk is dry before using it.

The problem also could be a borderline drive laser and borderline disk. Sometimes the disk will work on another drive, so if you have a second one, try installing from there. If you have access to another PC, try transferring to the thumb drive with that system.

That should keep you busy for a while.
