About to go where no one has gone before.

I have just started downloading the Maximum Edition of Crysis 2 on Steam.
To speed up things (I have the worst Broadband speeds ever) I will copy-paste bits from my original Steam Crysis 2 install, into the Maximum Edition folder.
I'll let you all know if this works, or if it causes my digital life to explode.

Incindre out.

You are brave indeed.

Once you have it all working, theres something I really want to know:
If you create multiple user accounts (in-game) with Maximum Edition, do they all have access to the DLC?

I approve of this method.

Mission failed!

The files appear in this directory: F:\Steam\steamapps\downloading
Windows explorer seems to think that all the files add up to 12.4gb already (when I've only downloaded 1.5gb)
I tried pasting in everything from my original gamecrysis2 folder into the new one (which stubbornly believes itself to be 9.56gb already) but when I restarted Steam it continued downloading from the same place.

Does anyone have any ideas? I'll hit up the Steam forumites too.

Steam appears to go from its recollection of where it left off when you restart, rather than a re-assessment of what is on your disk already like some other download methods. It makes for a much faster resume.... That also fits because it appears to pre-allocate the filespace.

I dont see how you could counter that at this point. "A" for effort, though.

Well, once your download is painfully over ;) ....
Please tell us if Maximum Edition lets you create more than one player account that can access the DLC!

I can try to create a 2nd profile later...

I reluctantly got the maximum edition from steam...took me about 4 hours to d/l. I didnt wanna get the maximum edition as i already bought both dlc's on my xbox version (before i got my new PC) & only got to play the maps a couple of times.

So £25 and 4 hours later i start it up only to find out that no one seems to be playing the DLC maps on the PC version either...ive only had 1 game on the custom maps so far! Feel like ive been bummed twice by Crytek & EA now with only my crummy FY71 to keep my sanity.

Im gonna have a field day though when i get my pad hooked up...playing crysis on mouse & keys is odd!

I put up a server for the DLC, it is now a mixed mode playlist for both DLCs.

It is hard, very hard, to populate a DLC server. There have been several good matches, though. Try jumping on and hanging out a while. If its during peak hours more will usually hop on. Search for "MAXIMUM EDITION" in your browser. Controller players welcome! ;)

EDIT: woot. 10 players on atm (MON 6/11 0946 PST)
