Always set your polling rate to the highest possible value ( eg. 1000 ).

In Windows, go to Control Panel->Hardware and Sound->Devices and Printers->Mouse . Select "Pointer Options" and make sure the speed slider is exactly 6 ticks to the right of "Slow." Also, make sure "Enhance pointer precision" is turned off.

I would leave the in-game mouse sensitivity at the default. But, you need to modify your autoexec.cfg or game.cfg file to include the following :

Code:
i_mouse_accel = 0
i_mouse_accel_max = 100
i_mouse_smooth = 0

As for your actual hardware mouse DPI setting, that's up to you, but I usually find that higher is better.

DPI and polling rates should be high as possible, providing it doesn't lag your system.

I have windows sensitivity set at the fifth bar, mouse at 2500 DPI, low sensitivity, and in game, Cl_sensitivity = 4.

That's with a logitech G700 mousey and a Goliathus speed pad. I have to move my mouse quite a bit, but it makes tracking WAY easier (said as someone who used to play on high sensitivity)

Dont know why but i cant modify that file, computer doesnt allow it, i set polling rate to highest(1000 hz) and dpi at 3500, done that control panel setting, but i was comfortable with 5 in game setting, default was too much, anyways thx for ur help and time.

Well, yeah, set your DPI to highest possible and lower your ingame sensitivity then. The higher DPI makes your mouse more precise and smoother. I have my Logitech G400 at 3600 DPI and my ingame sens is 1.0. Now imagine how much space I need xD

I'm a Brony. And I need space for my ponyhooves. It's great for precise aiming but you gotta take care if it's about fast turns and that stuff

Use the command cl_sensitivity from the in-gane console, as in:

cl_sensitivity ( to display your current setting )
cl_sensitivity = 2.6 ( to fine tune your setting )

Whatever changes you make are stored for that singleplayer profile for the next session. Tunings in 10th made all of the difference for me as I improved (thanks SDub).

I use a higher DPI in the mouse and a very low cl_sensitivity, equating to a 360 degree turn over the entire width of my mousing area. I have also found that a higher Y-axis DPI lets me twitch up to headshots more naturally when rolling this way.
