what would be best special for amazing charisma (like never fail speach challenge ever) be decent at small guns able carry decent load and get the megaton house early on + be able to get in the room with the body before entering the machine for operation anchorage (i want infinite durra weapons)

just trying set up somethign to mess around with while i wait for Skyrim GOTY to come out on disc (at best few more months wait worst another year to go or not at all (super depressed if bethesda doesn't put GOTY on disc cuz means i'll never get play it)

any way what would be best special to be the guy who screws with your mind i dotn wnat be useless in combat or miss a ton of loot due to locked doors / computers i cant access also dont want die in 1 hit

is luck important ?

Luck is very important. (Critical strike is a godsend, especially on the harder difficulties)

Charisma is terrible.

Everything else just depends on what you are going to use. (If you're going for small guns for the most part, then Agility might be a good thing to put points in)

I always make sure that I get a good amount of Endurance, Luck, and Intelligence, but different strokes are for different folks.

No it doesn't.

It gives you more speech, barter, companion nerve, and that's where it ends.

Companion Nerve is only in New Vegas.
But, due to Fallout 3 using % speech checks Charisma helps out with those.

Actually the speech system in Fallout 3 is much easier, because no matter what speech skill you have, you can pass a speech check by saving beforehand and doing it again.

I don't like save and abuse though.

Different strokes, different folks.

On the PC, the computer can hold 1,000 saves, so I save in an instance where someone else would screenshot. My saves are practically a time-capsule of New Vegas.

I personally like an even Special, mostly 5's and 6's, sometimes with a 7 in Intelligence. That ensures that most of the perks are available, and nearly all once you find the bobbleheads.

A typical SPECIAL for one of my characters:
S: 6
P: 5
E: 6
C: 5
I: 7
A: 5
L: 5

With all the bobbleheads, Ant Might, and the Lucky 8-ball and Ranger armor
S: 8 (10 with Solar Power perk)
P: 6
E: 7
C: 6
I: 8
A: 6
L: 8

?
If you want a high Charisma.. add points to your charisma
My previous DiD character had a luck of 6, a Charisma of 7, and a speech skill of 90 before she died, which included Yew's Bear Charm. She never failed a speech check.

Makes sense. Better to set it at 9 at first, then use the point elsewhere. Then, when Moira gives you the "get irradiated" quest, just swim from Super Mart to Rivet City, then find the bobblehead. Instant 10 INT, and you're only at Level 2 or 3.
