OOC: Can we have a dinner first and set up a council!? And then build up to the Legion attack, not just have them come out of the blue? You all need to chill! LOL And the short post is way too short and sounds rather out of place, James just heard that Vulpes is back at Cottonwood. Let's not go crazy here...
Cat Bellamy - late afternoon - Nipton - her bungalow
Cat closed the door behind her and Reggie with a sigh and headed into the bedroom. She was stopped short by Reggie's tearful confession.
"Hush now," Cat said softly and joined the younger woman on the couch. She placed a comforting hand on Reggie's arm. "We are all just human and this live sure puts a strain on us. Your heart is in the right place Reggie, and sure, Ace provoked you. Every time we loose it, it teaches us how to control our emotions and actions in the future. Don't let mere words set you off, Reggie, you are better than this. Never give in to a belief that you are not. What's the old saying? Sticks and stones may break my bones, but words will never hurt me? It's a cliche, sure, but it still holds truth," she said with a wink, when Mary walked into the room.
Cat had completely forgotten that Peter occupied one of her beds.
"Mary, we finally get a quiet minute. Let me introduce myself, I'm Doc Bellamy, but you can call me Cat," she said with a smile and then turned to Reggie, "And I this is Reggie, sure, you have met her before, but she had been under a lot of strain lately, so you haven't seen her best side," she added with a slight shrug.
Then she looked down at her soiled clothes. "Excuse me while I wash up and change," she said and grabbed a fresh pair of pants and a t-shirt from a near by cabinet. Then she headed to the bathroom and took off her blood stained clothes. She went over to the sink, turned on the water and washed herself from head to toe. At last, she stuck her head under the sink and rinsed off the sweat and dust of the day. She stood dripping wet in the middle of the bathroom, without a stitch of clothing, when someone knocked on the door.
"I can't get one moment of peace it seems," she said under her breath and reached for a sheet to cover herself, showing only her long, smooth legs and bare arms and shoulders.
When she opened the door, she inhaled sharply, while her cheeks burned crimson.
"JT," she finally said, once her senses returned and then she remembered her wet and tousled hair, she must look a mess. "I wasn't expecting anyone, I mean... my clothes were all bloody and I did sweat a lot and I just got home and..." she babbled incoherently.
Shut up, Cat, she chided herself.
"I mean, sure thanks for offering to help with the Geckos," she said and beamed a smile at him. "Let me just throw on some clothes and I'll walk over to the picnic area with you," she said. "Come on in, have a seat," she told JT and pointed at the dining room table.
"Oh, excuse me, I have a patient in the other room. This is Mary, her husband Peter is my patient, and this here is my roommate Reggie. Mary, Reggie, this is JT," she introduced the two and then she hurried back into the bathroom, closed the door and got dressed.
When she returned, she said, "Well, JT and I will head on out and start supper. By the way, Mary where are your children?" Cat asked concerned. "I don't think it's a good idea to let them roam around town unsupervised," she added with a frown.
Then she turned back to JT, her heart skipped a beat, when she felt his blue eyes on her. "Well, JT, are you ready for that date you promised me?" she asked and felt the warmth return to her cheeks.
