New Vegas. I don't listen to the radiochannels all that much, but even even them included, it's New Vegas for me (not least thanks to Three Dog).

New Vegas. It had many positive surprise moments when I regocnized some track that were from the originals, but the overall soundtrack was also much better, IMO.

It is obvious that F3 music was better and fit more well then NV music and if you didn't like three dog you could just kill him.

But NV is more Old West Feely so as to fit its place.
F3 music is meant for the jazzy 50's feel in the big city.

This is why you can't realy compare them it is like trying to combare a bike and a SUV.There not the same so you can't

(I also think all the Fallout Dinosaurs are gona say NV because they think every aspect of it is better than F3)

FO3. NV was better for the environment, what with all the cowboys, but Fo3 was better as a stand-alone, and was still not at all bad with relation to the setting. Maybe that's not the point of the soundtrack, but i lifted most of FO3's soundtrack because their songs were songs i could listen to anytime, not just in that specific setting. With NV, i could only lift a couple of songs and add them to my library because it seemed odd listening to big iron on the way to class when class has nothing to do with rangers.

I think that's because when i think of the east coast i think of a mash-up of the rest of the country. a melting pot within a melting pot so to speak. Therefore, a soundtrack that covers more of the generic hits and mood of the 50s would be more appropriate as compared to NV, where the culture is decided more western, and so a western soundtrack would be more appropriate.

New Vegas. (It includes tracks from the originals.)

maybe it's because i'm not as big a fan of FO1 as the new ones, but despite playing all three, but i don't feel as though NV should be considered better JUST because it contains music from the originals unless i'm interpreting your response wrong.

also, three dog i don't consider to be part of the soundtrack, nor do i consider Mr. Vegas to be part of the soundtrack. i judge the soundtrack based solely on the songs themselves, not the DJ.
in terms of DJ, Mr. Vegas was the better DJ even if i initially enjoyed three dog's personality more. If only he wouldn't keep repeating evergreen mills and oasis all the time...

I've got equal love for the radio soundtracks on NV and FO3. However, I do like NV's background Wasteland tracks a little more. There's a great one that comes up now and again while I'm exploring the Mojave that always makes me feel super alone and super small with just a few, quiet notes.

NV had far better ambient music, but I do prefer FO3's songs. I think they went really well with the environment, even if that environment wasn't the most realistic thing going.

I love 'em both but Fallout 3's GNR wins that battle.

After the first day or two of playing NV i went to the nexus and immediately downloaded a mod to delete johnny guitar from Mr. Vegas's playlist. never regretted it. :goodjob:

Perhaps, like the Vault experiments themselves, Johnny Guitar was put into the soundtrack on a very short rotation to see how quickly NV players would go insane.

This may be true. My god that song drives me up a wall, and then some.

what if they had only put in johnny guitar and referenced that somewhere in the game, maybe using a vault-tec terminal that said that a specific vault in the area had a radio playlist that played 24/7 in the vault to study how the lack of silence and constant stream of those songs again and again would affect the mind. Also one song was added that would play extra often that specially induces madness in subjects. You then see the playlist and realize that it is RNV's playlist and that johnny guitar is listed as the song that induces madness. this terminal would only be there using wacky wasteland though. otherwise you just suffer in ignorance of how you are unwittingly being slowly turned insane whenever you turn the radio on. :unsure2:

We are all talking soundtracks here... better soundtracks; and yeah, I consider it better because of the original game tracks from Fallout 1 & 2. To me [personally], those are the only ones that matter.

That so should have been a Wild Wasteland. It's to good not to use. Maybe put it and other things like that in a mod. You should put it in Vault 19, the terminal states people were becoming paranoid and hearing strange noises from the speakers.
