Easy Quarry Junction

Post » Wed Jun 13, 2012 9:45 pm

If you went through Quarry Junction and didn't get a scratch or it was pretty easy then say so and put your strategy. Companions passing out is ok because, to tell the truth, Veronica likes to punch things. I will put mine.

So I took out Christine's COS sniper rifle and got hidden then snuck into Quarry Junction. I looked down the scope and got headshots on almost all of the Deathclaws. But even when I didn't one hit kill them, they didn't see me, so they just ran around looking for me. It took about 50 bullets to take everyone out, and Veronica only got knocked out once when she charged the Mama Deathclaw, but other than that I took all of them out with no scratches.

Post your story!

I restocked on mines, having probably 20 mines or so, BTW those were frag mines i hate plasma mines for some reason.
I had used the companion glitch, so i had every companion.
I waited till lvl 30 b4 trying to take down the Deathclaws.
I gave all my companions state of the art equipment and a [censored]load of ammo.
And as a backup i used C4, but i didnt have to use it, by the time all the mines were done and all my ammo was depleted, the deathclaws were dead.

Sneak, take out Christine's Rifle, kill the one at the entrance and the other two sitting together at the foothill. After that just go up one of the Conveyor belts type of things and start sneak crit. them with AP ammo. Might need to leave one's post if can't get a clear view of some of them. After being done with the big ones, just take out a Riot Shotgun blow the little ones(too bad you can't adopt them/make them followers).

Stealthboy sneaking at night. No companions. Somewhat hard because they have high perception. But use the terrain correctly you can get to that Khan encampment pretty easily. Also it's pretty easy to sneak kill them with a stealthboy on. Just be on top of a hill. Any high power weapon will do. Suppressor or not.

What difficulty? I play on Normal and I find it pretty easy now (insert difficulty joke here).

Even on VH it isn't too difficult for a good build, just use your skills and perks. I think Dead Wind Cavern is much more difficult due to it being a closed space.

In Dead Wind caverns there aren't as many weird possibilities for a takedown. It's basically go in there, headshot everything and leave after getting Mercy.

But if you make a mistake and there are five deathclaws around you're screwed. QJ is just kill those at the entrance, find a good spot and start sniping.

The cavern is a spectacle though if you have enough C4 with you!

EDIT: I'm not saying DWC is too hard, just that I find myself being more careful in there, due to lack of space and 3+ deathclaws staying in each square.

1- Companions ED-E and Boone
2- Snipe the heads before they spot you. You can get them to half health before they move toward you.
3- Take on ONE at a time.
4- Make your way to the big conveyor belt in the middle. The higher up you are the better off you are (and most likely they will not be able to find you. Line the belt you're on with mines, just in case.
5- When you kill off all the DC's besides the Mother and babies, come down and go back to the entrance of QJ and follow the path on your LEFT (which would be the right if you had just come in)
, make your way to the conveyor belt at the end of that pathway. You should be able to take out the mother without her finding you. Kill the babies as they come into sight.
6- Good luck with the ones outside. You can't hide while drawing them in. YCS/186, Holorifle or Anti-Materiel Rifle is your friend here.
7-Go see Melissa's fine ass.

Yes, it is. Mines and C4 here. They'll help slow em down.

Riot shotgun is awesome in Dead Wind Caves.
With Shotgun Surgeon and Stay Back, and the right ammo of course = dead DCs
Still a tough fight ( hardcoe )

DCs in the open are dead from a mile away.

As soon as I can physically see an enemy, any enemy ( even before ED- E can ) I can kill them with the Gauss.

With everything maxed I can see a long... long.. .way.

Almost cheating..so I don't use it very often. And I prefer the rough and tumble of close quarters fights.

Dead Wind caves was a nice change...almost reminded me of the fights in the mines below Klamath with the Winnemagos ?

Hard hard...good times.

I basically did what the Ranger did in the NV intro.

1. Got a high vantage point
2. Put on my Ranger armor
3. Looked down the scope
4. Poped head shots
