AI taking over for player?

While I have heard this, I was wondering if it's selectable or solely based on being afk for a period of time? IOW, you know you are going to be afk for a bit, will there be the option to just select "AI Control" or something along those lines so that way your team isn't waiting for the AI to take over?

I should imagine that this will happen as soon as you press pause.

But what if you press pause just to adjust some settings and don't want some AI to take over for the 30 seconds and move you out of your position?

I don't think that there's an AFK option, but I remember something being said about bots filling in your place in MP if you leave, untill a new player connects.

A good idea is ability to pick AI mode, as in, you'd press ESC, and press 'AI Mode' and if your afk for more then 2 minutes, AI automatically takes over.

Good idea, but only if BOT player is not under actual player nickname. Meaning there could be bot filling the gap temporarily, but then player shall disappear for further afk time and bot should get random look. It could be up to each server administration. One thing - why don't just allow ppl to write scripts for such situation, just by giving them tools to do that and event send when sb is not performing anything for some amount of time?
