Help! I messed up!

Post » Wed Jun 13, 2012 8:13 pm

I was trying to get something done really fast in the map editor, copying and pasting a bunch of X, Y, Z, coordinates... and when I saved one of the level tiles I accidently changed its name! Now the name is changed all over the entire game! Oo How do I fix this!? I need to be able to find that tile. I think I did it twice, once earlier. Not having a good day. Can someone please help me? It won't let me change it back, just individual instances of each tile one at a time.

Well I fixed the second mistake by restarting the editor without saving... loosing my work SOB, but the first mistake is still there. "in_impsmall_r_center_01" is now "y"... must have happened when I was adjusting something. How the heck do I fix this? Nothing I do works!

When you are choosing a mod to load in the CS, click on the 'Details' button. You'll see a list of everything your mod affects. Find the entry, select it, and press the Delete key. Close that window, and continue loading your mod as usual, and then save it immediately. The change should be gone. You can use any number of common Morrowind tools to achieve the same results though. It's usually more straightforward too, but it always involves finding the entry you changed and deleting it from your mod. You can't just go and change an entry back to it's original state either, since it's still marked as changed by the mod. The only way to revert it is to remove it.
