Morrowind on an X-Box 360 4 GB

Post » Thu Jun 14, 2012 6:28 am

A friend of mine is offering me an X-Box 360 with 4GB so I can get Morrowind GOTY and play it. I know that MW is backwards compatible but is 4 GB enough to play the game and save mult chars?

I don't have a console ,but GOTY on PC occupies a little under 1 GB of disc space and designed to run on 2002 technology , ie not very demanding, so i would imagine that the 360 is more than capable.

4GB will probably be enough. Though if you're going to get Morrowind GOTY I'd recommend just getting it on a PC.

I have it on the PC but my PC is old and keeps crashing

Well, you found a way to make the 4 gig model worth using. You might be discovering too much.

Enough for what, saved games? If so, then it's more than enough. There's no reason for the saved games to even take up more than 100mbs. I've had to deal with the 4gb slim for several months, and I managed to play 360 games with it no problem. Of course, I didn't have the luxury of installing my games, and had to manage what Arcade games and demos I could keep on it.

Yeah, I only want to play morrowind on it. Nothing else. I'm still a ps3 future even though we continually keep getting shafted.

Yeah it's enough. It is BC, however there is some save glitches or loading times that might bother you. The load times take a bit longer than on PC, or when playing it on the Original Xbox. Other than that. It should play good.

Also i strongly reccomend you playing on the resolution of 1024x768 if the option is available to you. That is on the Xbox. Playing it on 1080p will just downgrade the picture for some reason.

You'll have plenty of space. But your experience may not be great. For me, Morrowind on the 360 freezes every 10-20 minutes, load times are crap, and the ground often disappeared below my feet. Some other forum members have said that their games were completely bug/glitch free, though. Take it at your own risk.

I am getting an old X-Box instead and play it on that though. I dont want to have to get X-Box Live just to download the update to play it.

You only need silver to get the update, which doesn't cost anything, but the game plays better on the original Xbox. Good choice.

Actually no. It's better on the 360 because it will play in HDMI imput. While the orignal will not have any sorts of problems like freezes etc. The picture will look like crap. *AV cables*

If you care about picture quality that much, then sure, but game freezes for HD picture is most definitely not a worthy trade.
