Hmm, I don't recall anything about the Synda dying problem, but the patch should definitely help with the crash near the Foreign Quarter. (It's caused by a script disabling a certain corpse then attempting to delete it right away. The patch should fix that). Note that the patched version is not complete but it should go a long way to making the mod a lot less buggy. Make sure to uninstall any previous version your're using.
It IS a fantastic quest mod indeed.
