PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE have Quicksave / Save Anywhere for PC

Post » Wed Jun 13, 2012 10:13 pm

I loved Crysis, bought two copies, and supported it everywhere. The great thing was you could play every scenario just as you wanted, and could retry it over and over - all because you could save anytime and recall past situations.

After years of anticipation I bought Crysis 2 via pre-order - and was bitterly disappointed. No quick-save! Just the idiotic "checkpoint" system. So every time my character is killed I have to replay the same level from the ***** beginning! I don't have a lot of time to play and never get very good at it, so I end up repeating things over and over - which uses up the little time I have !!

I hate this so bad I deleted C2, and haven't played it in a year. AND I CERTAINLY WON'T BUY C3 UNLESS IT HAS QUICKSAVE.

I don't give a damn about better-and-better graphics... I want a game I can play.

PS: I know there are players who *do* prefer checkpoints for the challenge or whatever. Fine: make Quicksave an option on the Difficulty screen. Those who want Hard can select that difficulty and can leave Quicksave disabled. A ridiculously simple solution.

I totally support you, but

No. It's just stupid. The ideal saving system was/is in Crysis 1. It has checkpoints, manual saving and quicksaving. The player can use quicksave on any difficulty. I for one always play C1 on the most difficult setting and use quicksave. If someone doesn't want to use F5, then what's the frukken problem? They can just ignore F5 and rely only on checkpoints, plain and simple.

Anyway, maybe you don't know or someone else doesn't know, so just for information. I recently found out there's a mod which allows you to use quicksave in Crysis 2. It's called Quality Mod: http://www.crydev.net/viewtopic.php?f=308&t=71723. Well, it really saved the day for me and finally I played C2's campaign on the hardest difficulty with no problem. :)

It's definitely better to have both. Checkpoints are nice, but quicksaves are much more flexible.

It'd be nice to have both. Sorta like the Half-life Games, large scale checkpoints to keep you in the general area and quicksaves for refinement.

We should have both. On one hand, there's OP's solid argument for quicksave; on the other hand, some of us immersion-lovers could do without having to break the fourth wall every time we beat a section.

sh4d0wl0rd - spasiba bolshoi! I'll reinstall and try it!

Crytek - what I said about C3 still goes.
