No offence, but I really dislike the psychic protagonist.

What this means in the case of Crysis 3 is how the game shows "press x to open" and then the vent opens by itself as if you are psychic. Other cases are when the game indicates you to do something and it happens without your hands. The only time you actually use your hands is if the game begins to control itself such as when you had to sabotage the dam.

This is why I enjoyed Crysis (1). When I picked up a weapon for ammo etc Nomad reached out and picked it up; it didn't just vanish and add to my ammo. This "psychic" power when I noticed it in Crysis 2 though small to some people just ruined the immersion for me because with a game that boasts amazing graphics that is almost life-like, seeing how I can't reach out and push a button or open a vent reminds me that this isn't as real as the game lets on if you understand what I mean.

Well I think that is just to cope with system mechanics, with Crysis, Crytek had more variation because it was just on pc.

"To cope with system mechanics?" What are you talking about? It's a simple animation, derp. If you need an example, Gears 3 has action animations.

I'm seriously fed up of people just throwing out "oh, it's because Crysis 2 was on consoles" as a reason for every perceived problem.

Really it is basically just them not wanting to put it in. I don't know if there is some reason why they didn't put some animations in but they might have better reasons than just... didn't feel like it. But that quite possibly might be the answer, guess we just wont know. In my opinion those animations are fun to see but if they are left out its not a game breaker for me.

It depends on what defines a gamebreaker and of course the person as well. To me this breaks the game in the sense of immersion but doesn't break the game in terms in gameplay. I still very much want this game.

I can understand that, me personally I am more about just having the core of the game really good and nice and then anything extra like that is just a bonus. It seems sometimes that some games focus too much on the little things instead of focusing on some of the more important details. Like what is the point of having an amazing animation for movement and interactions when the gun play and combat might be lacking in quality.

I agree with the guys first statement, it's not a game breaker though as just about every fps has this "psychic" power. The original Crysis having that reach out and grab added really nice detail to the game and helped contribute to the immersion. I don't understand why they can't bring this back at least for campaign

The thing about Crysis 1 is that it looked real (lighting, setting) and it felt real (animations) with some intelligent AI (reactive, non-dumb). There was so much variety in level design.

C2 has nothing of that sort going for it. That is the problem.

(Also i loved that part in C1 where nomad enters the core level and hes narrating into the video feed about what he sees...that section in the alien interior was sooo creepy. <3'ed it)

They let you pickup guns as ammo in warhead, which Iiked as searching for things dropped in the grass wasn't fun.
