Brink Controls?

Post » Mon Jan 11, 2010 4:18 am

I'm an Xbox 360 player waiting impatiently for Brink to arrive, and I just want to know what the general controls will be like. I heard that the SMART button would be L2 on the PS3. Would that be LB on the Xbox 360? They are the same button, anyway (Above the left trigger). I just want to make sure about that, and what the rest of the controls will be like.

So far, this is what I've found for controls:
LB- S.M.A.R.T. Button
LT- Ironsights
RT- Shoot
RB - Grenade
D-Pad Up- Objectives
D-Pad Left, Right, Down - Equipment/Gadgets

That just leaves the face buttons (a, b, x, y) and clicking the anolog sticks, which will control at least crouch, jump, and melee.

Hey, thanks man. Looks like a mixture of Halo Reach and MW2. If B was Melee, which it probably is, and A is Jump, and the Right anolog Stick is Crouch, then it is pretty much 1/2 Halo and 1/2 MW2. I do approve of the aiming down the sights idea.

I'm fine with ADS if hip-firing accuracy is low. Otherwise...

Also, L2 on PS3 would be the Left Trigger on 360.

Weird, 360 stole LB and RB from the PS1/2 at the same time PS3 stole triggers from the Xbox.

Taken from the compendium.

Default xbox controls:
RT = shoot
LT = aim
LB = sprint/SMART
RB = grenade
X = action/use (also ammo, heal, recharge)
B = crouch
Y = switch weapons
A = jump
LS = buff self (also, give self ammo, health, etc.)
RS = melee
Up = Objective wheel
Left, Right, Down = class abilities

- You will be able to map your abilities to a specific d-pad button (left, right or down)

That's where I remembered it from...I can't believe myself sometimes,,, ;)

And Ninjat, I read somewhere (probably that same compendium) that hip firing is accurate enough, probably to keep the game fast paced.

In that case, ADS seems a bit useless. But whatever, I always seem to miss it when it's not there, so it'll be fine.

X = action/use (also ammo, heal, recharge)

Iirc you have to press one of the joysticks to hand out ammo/buff weapons or players/revive yourself.
