Quite often my character will turn to the left and walk backwards with no input from me. The only solution I've found is to exit out of the game. But it generally ends up happening again. . . If anyone has any idea how to resolve this I would be very grateful.

Something like that happened to me while I had joystick connected. Do you have any, or any other controller?

Yeah, a joystick & a gamepad adapter. I'll disconnect them and see what happens. Thanks for the help.

Instead of disconnecting, you can edit your .ini file. It's called Oblivion.ini and is located in My Documents\My Games\Oblivion. Open it in any text editor, may be notepad, find bUse Joystick=1 and change to 0 and save.
