Well, I've been trying to figure out what the main story line in Daggerfall is, and I just can't get it. I've watched the intro to the game on youtube. What is the main story, and what does Septim's letter say?

Lysandus ghost haunts Daggerfall. You are assigned with figuring out why. You find out what Septim's letter says when you find it eventually.

Thanks for the response, but I figured that out already. Could you tell me why his ghost haunts Daggerfall? And also what the letter says?

he was assassinated by Lord Woodborne of Wayrest and not killed on the battlefield as belived. Death or humiliation of Lord Woodborne will soothe his restless spirit

Rumor has it that Lord Woodborne, a minor lord of Wayrest, has possession of it. He will doubtless "lose" it soon. You must persuade him to turn it over to you or Lady Brisienna. The court of Wayrest has no love of King Lysandus, but you still have influence there. I am asking you to use it on my behalf.
