Yellow pus on nose after sunburn

Post » Fri Jan 15, 2010 3:57 am

I went swimming yesterday for about 5 hours and I forgot to put sun-block on my face. The effect of this is now I have blisters on my nose and I have yellow pus on my nose. ( Not inside, but on top of my nose.)

It started when I woke up, I felt like my nose was running so I went to the bathroom and saw yellow stuff on top of my nose. It was only in one spot, so I put some neosporin on it.

I then took a shower about 2 hours later and it got worse. Now it's all over my nose and not just in one spot. I spent about an hour searching this up, and basically what google said was its a second degree burn, and if I experience any of the following symptons, I should go see a doctor.

The symptons are chills, fever, headache, nausea, or dizziness.

I don't have any of these symptons yet ( thank god) but if I do, I'll definitely go to the doctor. For now, I just want some tips from you guys. What should I do to make it go away quicker?

Go see a doctor. He'll probably prescribe antibiotics for you, which is what you most likely need.

I'd suggest to keep putting stuff on it.

I'm not a doctor, but that's what I'd do.

If I remember correctly, neosporin isn't recommended for serious burns or deep cuts, so I'd say keep it away from your [censored]-y nose. If you have some medical gauze you can use that to soak up the puss. Other than that, keep it clean.

I'd also at least call your doctor. I can imagine antibiotics might be needed.

(not a medical professional)

(heh, puss-y is censored)
