Modder cheat sought

Post » Fri Jan 15, 2010 7:27 am

I installed a vanilla version of Morrowind to prepare to work on my new mod ideas. I'll need to install some of the mods I need to check out for compatibility with my thoughts. I don't want to play the game, just zerg my way to the mods of interest. With this in mind does anybody know of any super weapons or spells or something to allow me to blow through content to check out the mods I need to review?

easiest way is just use the console, and enter "tgm" for toggle godmode. Alternatively, you can select whatever you want squished while the console is open and use "sethealth 0". Toggling collision with "tcl" is also pretty handy, as well as resetting actors with "ra".

Either Google search "Morrowind cheats" or download one of the hundreds of save games in which people have completed the game already.

Ah, godmode. I didn't think of that. Even with the excessive amounts of mods I use that may make the game fly by the lower levels I've never used that. Should fit the bill to the T. Thanks!

Noooooo why did you tell him tgm exists. Quickly, drink the memory away! It will ruin your game :(

LOL! I'm only going to use it for mod testing not for my actual playthrough

Or you could try http://planetelderscrolls.gamespy.com/View.php?view=Mods.Detail&id=6338. It was designed to quick-generate a character prepared to do exactly that sort of mod-testing, with built-in fast travel and an item to generate just about any of the items you might need.

Thanks for the referral, Lyssia. :D

I'll vouch for that mod, too.

in conjunction with TGM, you may use TAI, that is "Toggle Artificial Intelligence", so creatures and Npcs will not attack you.

Thanks, Arcimaestro. I think that's the final piece of what I need to fly through the game. Lyssia and Trunksbomb, I'm already far enough into my playthrough to start again with that mod. I'll keep it in mind for future mod work, though. Thanks, all!
