TESnexus?

Post » Fri Jan 15, 2010 10:51 pm

Hi, I was wondering whether it is allowed/inteded for us to put Morrowind files on TESnexus. It is called TESnexus so you'd theink that meant all of the TES games, but it seems to serve only Oblivion files (in that there is only an 'Oblivion' category. I have already uploaded some Oblivion files onto the site, and was wondering if there is somewhere on the site I have missed which has Morrowind files?
If not, where would be the best (i.e. most visteded etc.) place to put up Morrowind plugins, I'm guessing Planet Elder Scrolls?

TESNExus hosts mostly Oblivion mos, but there is Morrowind section, you just need to scroll the list, i think. Yes, most Morrowind mods are on Planet Elder Scrolls.

I believe the above is correct, if you scroll down far enough on the search categories, there are ones for Morrowind, though the list is shorter than for Oblivion, and it seems to have more Oblivion files, for Morrowind mods, it seems like Planet Elder Scrolls is indeed the most popular option.

It's just a pity that PES has an appalling search feature.

The worst thing about TESnexus is how extremely uninviting it looks, other than that its better than PES imo because it allows you to upload the file instantly, on PES you have to wait 1-4 days to get the file approved. PES is also a lot slower to upload to.. a 25MB file can take several minutes, while on TESNexus the same file takes 5 seconds to get there.

For me TESnexus wins hands down, I cannot stand PES. Unfortunately as you say most Morrowind mods seem to be on PES. Go with the Nexus!

You can put them on both sites. I downloaded and joined TESnexus first but now i download most of my mods from Bethsada.

The only mods Bethesda has is their ten or so addons...

I don't like PES at all, because then the last time I was there and looking for some mods suddenly a commerial windows popup on the screen.
Before I could go to the next page I must close that window or change to my first. Very annoying.

i put my mods on both. and i get about the same amount of downloads from both. i used to only use pes but since i found tesnexus i love it. it never hurts to put your mods on a couple sites if you want to reach a wider audience.

I put my mods on both PES and TESNexus. It depends on your tastes. I do like the color scheme of PES better than TESNexus, but the latter's functionality (searching, control, presentation) feels more refined and advanced.

However, I do like how PES has OB and MW mods in their own separate sections. It is difficult to catch new TESIII mods on TESNexys amidst the sea of TESIV mods updated and uploaded at nearly every hour of the day.

I wouldn't say that TESNexus looks uninviting. The search features & speed of uploads are and advantage. The down sides to TESNexus are 1) having your work share server space with necrophillic porm and 2) the biased ratings & comments system. At TESNexus you are only permitted to make a fair & honest review of good mods. Making a strongly worded, fair & honest review of a piece of trash work will get you banned.

PES would be great if I could ever find anything on there, the search is terrible.

On Tesnexus you can criticise constructively, it's the idiots who post things like "this is crap" that quite rightly get banned. There's an advlt filter for porm.

PES has more Morrowind mods, Nexus has more Oblivion mods. Both sites are good mod sources for either of the games though.

Very good points, both. Especially #1. The only time I've ever seen people banned is for putting up the equivalent of "ur !)($+!? mod svcks, #$(%_*hole!" There's no need for this. On the other hand, I put up a strongly negative but serious review of a mod that over 6 months ago that was uploaded but never finished, and actually interferes with the vanilla quests. My review's still there, and so am I.
