It set up it's self basically had to follow the steps, but anyway i can't figure out why my mods don't work i put everything in right folder and need lots of help. All i need to know if someone can help me. thanks! :foodndrink:

Did you put the plugin file (esp/esm) into the morrowind directory or into morrowind/Data Files. Bcause it simply wont work unless you put it in the correct folder :hubbahubba:

The correct folder being the data files directory

Hope this helps

I think since Vista Windows has started to treat programs installed under "Program Files" a little differently, and the best thing to do is install Morrowind to some other place, like C:\Games\Morrowind, if you haven't already.

TBH, if BB installed fine, it sounds like you're putting the files into the wrong folder. Post the file path of where you have put them.

Also, try running the Morrowind.exe as an admin and see if that makes a difference.

I ran morrowind as administrator, i cant change back to vista because i have windows 7 and vista isn't compatible with windows 7. Which i can't figure why this never works at all. Also when i had windows vista everything worked well, also i have no problems with the game i installed mods for at least 3 years and now this time it fails to work the way ive been doing this.

Perhaps if you explain exactly what you do when you
download then install the mods at issue (the steps that
you take), then better advise can be given as to how to
help you in detail (as, for all you know, you might be
installing them wrong even when you think you are right;
no harm in that in the least, as its better to get the correct
help here so that you can be sure that you are taking all the
necesssary steps toward a correct mod installation).

Cheers :D !

err..So, for example...

One downloads the mod and then either
a.) Open the Mod Archive
or
b.) Unpack the Mod Archive to a separate new folder on my dektop

then one opens the C:\Program Files\Bethesda Softworks\Morrowind\Data Files folder
(or what ever Drive/Directory on which your Morrowind files are located)

Then one either drags and drops directly or copy/pastes from the opened archive/new folder on the desktop into the C:\Program Files\Bethesda Softworks\Morrowind\Data Files folder the mods Meshes/Textures/Icons/Sounds/.esp (or what ever files apply give the specifics of the mod should they include any or all of said folders).

If this sounds familiar (precisely) then you are most likely installing the mod correctly

Duplicate folders (such as Data Files within the Data Files in your
C:\Program Files\Bethesda Softworks\Morrowind\Data Files folder
mean that something is wrong with the initial installation

For installing mods easier, I do following, it is very effective:
Download your mod. Unpack it to a temp folder. Read the readme, review the mod, select the right ESPs, order the preferred textures/meshes, delete unnecessary files and repack the mod with this order:

textures/meshes/somemod.espreadme.txt

inside a new package.
Copy the newly created package into Installers folder of Wrye MASH.
Install it with Wrye MASH. (right-click install, very easy.)
Run MLOX.(Again very easy, you run and press one button, sorts your plugin load order, even offer updates for your mods with LINKS)
Check for evil GMSTs in escog.(fully automatic)
Care free gaming. :D
