Installing the demo

Post » Sun Jan 17, 2010 7:21 pm

Hey,
I'm trying to install the demo of daggerfall atm, but dosbox says I don't have enough HDD space. I did read the sticky, and tried "freesize 700", as that seemed the most logical thing to do, but it's an illegal command according to dosbox. I don't know what's the problem actually. I only chose the "large" installation, because i have no cd (downloaded the demo), so I thought "well, it can't read the cd, so it will have to be totally installed", and I have around 29 gig's left on the HDD, that shouldn't be a problem I think.
Anyone can help me?

No help here, just a strange demo experience. I haven't built my W98 machine, yet, so for the heck of it I tried to install it on an XP laptop- no DOSBox. It installed fine and I've played it a bit. 16GB free HDD space. This was also using the demo download (dungeon). I haven't tried the outdoors one.

The command should be -freesize 700 , it won't work if you've missed the minus part out.

You can also put the /u flag on the install program to skip the disk check entirely:
install.exe /u

Thanks for the help all, but it still doesn't work :(. I made a http://i44.tinypic.com/fn4r4h.jpg of what I typed, maybe someone sees something that's wrong?
The C: is my map with all dos stuff (E:\dos), and "dag" is the one I put all the files from the demo.
and Jormungandr, what do you mean with "put the /u flag", do I have to do this in windows to the file? Or when I type install in DOSbox? Because in windows, which one do I have to choose? Because, the strange thing imo, I have 2 install.exe files (http://i40.tinypic.com/2040u8.jpg)
